More fun if you mix categories
My 7yo and I love mad libs, but most of the “Halloween” words here were in the “?” category, and there’s usually only one or two of those blanks per page, which means very few creepy words... However, if you mix up the nouns and the ? words (which are almost always nouns anyway), it makes it more Halloween-y.Not quite as funny as the other ones we’ve done, but kiddo likes it for seasonally silly creepiness! Good reading/writing homeschool practice, and we love that the back cover makes a firm enough surface to write on easily, so we can do these on the couch.

Good old fashioned fun
I bought this to do with my 9 old. I loved doing mad libs when I was a kid so I thought I’d see if they’d still be fun to do.We had a great time and many laughs reading the funny stories. Would definitely recommend for some good old family fun.

Age appropriate for first madlibs
I loved doing this as a family each morning up until Halloween. It introduced us to a fun and friendly approach to grammar that has been wonderful. Really enjoyed it! Ages of kids are 1st and 3rd grade..so it was a lot of fun.

Fun and educational
This is a huge hit in my house. All my kids have had fun with the stories. Love that it gets them to practice their parts of speech. We do two stories a day! Perfect for my kindergartener.

Great classroom resource
When I do MadLibs with my class (elementary school special ed), I often have to skip some stories because they are too complex. I also have to paraphrase the harder words in the regular versions of MadLibs. This has easier language, so I always get this book for my class to use in October. I don't like the way that symbols are used instead of the words "verb," "noun," etc, and I wish that it included adverbs. I'm also not a fan of the "misc" category, which actually seems to be just more nouns. I use MadLibs to reinforce parts of speech, so I have to add that back in to make this more useful. All in all, though, it's a great tool and fun game.
