Jane Eyre (Penguin Clothbound Classics)

The cover is fantastic!I had no idea what this book was about. For years I had wanted to read it, but thought that it might be too hard for me to read, that I wouldn't understand it. Could I have been more wrong? Probably, but I was immediately drawn in to this book. Of course, I had known Charlotte Bronte's name and that of her sisters as well, but while reading 'Jane Eyre' I was highly intrigued by Charlotte Bronte's life. How sad I found it to be! To lose all of your family and then to die, once finally married, and taking with you your unborn child! Ahh! This book is filled with so many great quotes, ideas, and thoughts. I loved it from the start. I love that Jane never wants, nor tries to be anything but herself. She could not allow herself to be, in the depths of her soul made to be as others were. I will not write about the plot, for I feel that you should discover it all on your own, as I did. Enjoy!

One of the greatest classics of all time!

I love this book its cloth cover feels nice and is so pretty. the book brings foot notes that explain the text further and allows further background on what's being said. it also has a thread for a bookmark put into it. beautiful book I love it and its very sturdy.

I ordered this book along with Pride and Prejudice. They are more beautiful in person that in the pictures. Very well made and durable and the paper is thick and high quality so they will hold up even if you read them over and over as I do with my favorites. Jane Eyre is one of my favorite novels. The story is such a wonderful mix of classic romance but with splashes of the dark and supernatural. I highly recommend these gorgeous penguine classics to everybody and I can't wait to order the rest of them for myself.

I bought this as a gift for my mother. The clssics have always been in our house but all of her's are worn paperbacks, that are probably over 20 years old. So when I stumbled across these beautifully covered books I was so excited. I wanted to buy all of them and I hope they aren't a limited edition, because I would build a library of classics with these. The book comes with a built in bookmark and the cover is a perfect fit for this beautiful story!

This may be entirely shallow, but I bought 8 of these books just because I was obsessed with the cover design.....they look so great on the shelf, and I am sure they are good reads too! I have only read one of the books (Wuthering Heights) and I liked it. I was planning on giving these as gifts, but now I am going to keep them! My only qualm...the pages are bright white, and I wish they had gone with a more "vintage-y" look on the inside to match the outside. But I guess they will get that with age ;)

Bought it as a gift. It looks very nice and she liked it, so I like it. I can't say that I really looked at it closely, however. It's Jane Erye, which speaks for itself. It makes a very nice looking addition to the bookshelf.

I love books. I love classics. Jane Eyre is a favorite and to have it bound beautifully is a delight. I have to echo many of the reviews I've read below. Why did you put an ugly price tag on the back? When it's removed, it leaves an ugly mark and removes some of the color on the beautiful fabric. It's just ridiculous that after all of the reviews, you can't affix the tag inside or leave it off entirely! I would love to give this book and the other fabric bound classics as a gift and would many times over, but it looks like I bought it damaged. This is an easy fix. Please consider changing this!

Preciosa edición de Jane Eyre de Penguin Clothbound Classics. El diseño es ideal y la calidad es buena. Sin embargo, al ser una edición de coleccionista, hay que ser cuidadoso cuando lees. Si toqueteas mucho la tapa y no eres cuidadoso, el dibujo se irá borrando.

I ordered this absolutely beautiful Penguin leather bound edition of Jane Eyre. Jane Eyre is one of my all time favourite classic... It has a great romance and also has this Gothic elements in it. I really had a great time reading this book. Reading it in this particular edition was even more fun. The pages are are really thick... And it has an introduction and also a built-in bookmark.But yes the book is little pricy.. But if you are a book lover and if you love collecting books then this is a must.This book is about this little girl Jane Eyre who have really bad childhood and then she grows up in a charity school. Then she becomes a governess in this huge mansion called the Thornfield Hall.. There her life changes completely... I think you should know only this much before going into the book.
