I enjoyed it
I found this book very informative and written in a pleasent and engaging manner without being patronising. A lot of common sense and some sensible advice that I wouldn't have thought of in respect of keeping this bird.

This is a great book to get some basic ideas and have a good start to trying to raise the birds. I also recommend you get other books to along with it.

Helpful Information, but the book is falling apart...
I have no issue with the information in this book. It is the product itself. I started reading it, and some of the pages fell out. Although the outside cover is secure and laminated, the inside of the book looks so cheap, as if it were printed from a home computer. Do not expect laminated, vivid pictures of the Blue and Gold Macaws in this book because the pictures also look like they were simply copied in draft format on a standard printer. I could've dealt with that, but I hate when pages fall out of books. From what I can see, the book is informative for anyone who is considering the purchase of a Blue and Gold Macaw. I still would suggest getting it if you're serious about adopting a Blue and Gold because most books contain general information about all macaw species, not just one type. I just ordered it because of my interest in parrots, so I was disappointed in it as a piece to add to my collection of avian books. You can find this information online, but sometimes it is nice to have a concise book on the topic. .

One to keep!
Great information. Lots of good to know info in all areas.

This volume won't satisfy.
This is a fairly sparse, pedestrian treatment of the Blue & Gold macaw -- absolutely for beginners only. Most of the author's information applies to all psittacines generally, and not Blue & Gold macaws specifically. Almost all of it is available freely on the internet as well, albeit certainly not as conveniently compacted.Bottom line: if you are a raw recruit, or simply an interested bystander in the macaw world, this small volume is an adequate (not great) starting point. If you're neither, move on. This volume won't satisfy.
