No more bucking bronco from GM 2500
Like others, this should have absolutely been stock equipment for GM 2500 (all related) trucks with their specially made "Rancho" shocks. I've used this brand for other vehicles and always perform. My brand new '25 GMC 2500 AT4 came with these above shocks and though the ride was nice, every time I hit a large dip or bump in road, it would bounce an extra 2-3 times before settling. Took about 2-hours to install these Bilstein's (4600 24-196437 and 196444) and most of that was me trying to find a 21mm socket and wrench. Installed in garage without jacking it up or taking tires off. Rear's were easy with top and bottom 21mm bolts. Fronts worked by turning wheel to full-lock towards the inside you are working on. Bottom bolt removed with socket and wrench holding back nut through the bottom of lower A arm. Top 2 bolts were accessible with fender liner on. Pushed up on wire holder on top of stud with screw driver, but had to use open ended wrench to start upper nets until a shallow socket would barely fit over. Both front tops just took a lot of hand-wrenching time with limited space, but overall very easy. Also the fronts were more tough to compress, as I got the lower section near and below the bolt hole and then used a screw driver to pry up on the bottom of the shock arms towards hole to shove the bolt though. New top nuts for fronts are 19mm. The ride is great and feels like it should. Little bumps and seems chatter a bit but is now amazingly stable over big dips and bumps in road. The truck will instantly settle with no extra bounce and is very stable in turns and winding roads. I'm sure it will handle loads and towing much better as well, just haven't yet.

Nicer ride
Installed on 3500HD Dually. Definitely a nicer ride than the stock Delco shocks from the factory. Would recommend for your 1 Ton truck.

Perfect fit for 2500HD
Purchased to replace original shocks on my 2011 Chevy pickup at 106k miles. It was time. Only one of the four OEM shocks still had and gas left in it. Easy to remove and replace in the driveway with hand tools and a floor jack. Front shocks are more accessible with tires removed. Rears are accessible with a creeper and the trunk on the ground. Needed a helper and the floor jack to compress the rears to get the bottom bolts back in place. Looking forward to experiencing a new truck ride again.

Why aren’t these installed at the factory?!
This is my second set of this model of shock. The first set I installed was on a 2002 2500HD diesel at about 30,000 miles. I remember vividly how much the ride improved, but assumed this was primarily because my factory shocks were worn out. I now have a 2020 2500HD Duramax with 3200 miles on the odometer, about half if it towing a 12,000 lb, 38 foot travel trailer. It has the LTZ trim with the Z71 option package and my truck came stock with Rancho shocks. On certain segments of roadway, my truck would porpoise a bit when I was towing my camper, and I wondered if better shocks would help. I run a WD hitch and are within tongue and GCVWR weight limits. After taking the truck for a test ride after install, I cannot believe the difference. It is incredible! The truck feels much more stable and connected to the road. Bumps and dips are absorbed completely and there is absolutely no jitter or jounce. I have a 400 mile RV trip planned soon, and will edit this review to share how they perform while towing. Even if they do no better than the stock Ranchos, the difference in ride quality while unloaded is reason enough to buy and install these. Why aren’t these the factory’s choice? Seriously. More to follow... Ok - towed the 12k lb trailer in a 150 round trip last weekend. The trip included the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel, so plenty of opportunity to porpoise on the bridge and all the way up the Eastern Shore. These shocks completely arrest the reverb. One bounce and then nothing. The truck feels much more connected to the road and much more controlled. These shocks were everything I was hoping they would be. If you are on the fence - jump. You will not be disappointed, and you will be much more comfortable upon landing ;)

A premium ride
Great ride. Firm and controlled even when at max payload

3/4 ton
Not as stiff as I would like on my Chevy duramax but gets the job done. Might go with a stiffer version next time.

Great choice for a controlled ride hauling a truck camper
Bilstein shocks have always performed well for me when hauling a heavy load in the bed of my truck. Compared to the stock shocks, they ride just slightly firmer, but they also maintain their damping performance much better over time, and are far better when traveling over longer periods of rough road use. Stock shocks did okay for smooth roads, but on bumpy roads, they would lose damping performance once they got a little hot from working. Not the Bilsteins - they perform 100% of the time no matter what.

Install easy?
Back 2 and 1 front were quick and easy to install by son. However, the 2nd front one was a problem and whole project was about 6 hours. Ride is much improved tho.
