Perfect for IT Work in Dim Room
For working in a dim room this clock is perfect. This is not the clock to use in a bright room or with any windows open. This is for nerds.I use mine to display UTC time for my IT work. All day and all night I lookup from my laptop (showing a server log in UTC time zone). It's right there on this clock. The clock shows a time stamp that is easy to read.I would pay TWICE what they are asking for 24 hour (military time) option (hint hint). There is an LED that indicates AM or PM, but I can't tell red from green.I was in shock when I opened the box and the time was set "live" running the time EST (US Eastern Standard Time). (So there must be a small coin battery in there somewhere. Guessing folks who have a dead model might try replacing that.

High Quality Digital Clock
Used for 2 years, no problems. Awesome, materials are high quality so don't go dropping it. Front is made of glass and outer is very rigid i forget if it was metal or plastic, high quality nonetheless.ONLY GRIPES are the AM and PM lights are very far recessed, so if your viewing angle is 40< deg you may only see a glow of red rather than the beaming red, might be of concern for vision impaired. Quick fix is layering a refracting and permeable tape that will bring the light to the surface. I used plain label tape.NOTE: Time+Date are not affected by this, near 70 degree view relief for even the date, 80 for the time.2) Lots of dead space, clock seems a little big compared to the digital array, now that's plain peevish.THE GODLY GOOD: Memory function maintained internal to the clock. Probably dark magic, but there is no removeable battery for time retention, but the clock maintains time if power is lost. I have not tested the longevity of this function, but a 2 year old clock that was removed from power for an hour and re-plugged in was holding accurate time to the second. I assume there is a button battery or something inside.2) 3 brightness modes are perfect for eye relief3) Inexpensive and beautiful, more than others on the market4) Will probably outlive me, year setting goes to 2099Project was for a time system that doesn't start blinking like a microwave clock, plugged into a UPS, but the internal time hold makes this null.My biggest fear is they run out of these clocks before 2099

Great Clock For Elderly; 3 Levels of Brightness
I bought this for my elderly mom. She is 85 and has been retired for a long time. She doesn't have many appointments so this helps here keep track of today's date without her having to find her calendar (must be nice to be retired). It can be seen easily from quite a distance and has 3 brightness levels. We typically keep it on the brightest setting since it is in the living room that is sunlit. It is quite large but yet attractive and the black box itself is very subtle on a table or shelf.

Works great – except March 1! Read about the work-around
Update 3/3/2017: I've modified my rating from 2 stars to 4. It turns out that the clock is NOT DEAD, but rather needs to be forcibly awakened!! It looks like the internal controller gets really confused around the end of February/beginning of March. Unplug it, (I waited 24 hours before proceeding, but not necessary), plug it back in... if there's still no display, press the buttons on the back of the clock. My clock came back on at this point -- but needed a *complete reset* of date/time, since the year/month were both off.I love this clock -- when it's working! The glitches around the end of February are annoying, but only once a year (so far!).From 2/28/2017: I bought this clock two years ago, and it has worked well since then... but today, it stopped working, so for longevity, I reduce it to 2 stars.Looking at some other customer questions and comments, I see there are several cases where the clock just stops working on February 28!! I checked the power supply -- it's good. So be warned: you'll probably be surprised to find your clock not working in late February a year or two from now.
