It's definitely a high-quality product that remains semi-surp forever which is what makes it absorb sounds effectively. I learned quickly that this stuff is very messy, and sticks to everything. Instead of constantly recleaning my tools with acetone, I put a thin layer of Vaseline on caulking guns and any other tools while using this product. It saves me many hours of cleaning and spending money on different solvents. I've used this product many times and highly recommend it for soundproofing. It's expensive but it actually works. Don't confuse it with caulking because that's used elsewhere and has different properties.

ok this is a real review. and I have several months of dealing with the material. first off spend the few extra bucks and get Green Glue. the competition of Quiet Glue is not at all as good. it may block the sound as well but the real difference is in the details. Green Glue will stick and stay exactly where you put it. It will not drip or run or move. put some green glue around the door jam. even messed up a little and put a big glob on the top of the door jam on the under side. I figured oh well it will drip off of there. nope it stayed exactly where it was. Quiet glue - I have a cut out area for the in wall AC unit. there has been sooooo much leackage of the quiet glue. It took over 2 weeks before the glue stopped dripping out of the drywall. it got all over the drywall and will casue issues when going to paint it. do yourself a favor and purchase green glue. it is the superior product and worth the extra money

Wish I had looked at the reviews before buying this product. We had two containers basically come apart as soon as we cut open the top. And then one started oozing out the back while we were spreading it out. I used Greenglue back in 2013 and it did not behave this way. Luckily we had Quietglue Pro on hand, purely coincidental. The Quietglue tubes did not break apart, the consistency of the glue is a lot better for controlling. I will never use Greenglue again!!!

Be careful cutting the tube open this stuff is runny. As soon as I cut the tip off the whole bottom plunger piece dropped out and the whole tube of glue poured out all over me and the carpet. Which is now a big sticky spot on my carpet. It did this with every tube, no matter how careful I was. There should be some sort of tube stop so this doesn't happen. Now I have 2 spots on the carpet in 2 separate rooms that I have to step over or I'll stick to... It's been over a month and still sticky. But otherwise, if you can get it on the drywall, it works well.

It's been a year since I purchased this product and I couldn't be more pleased. I was attempting to sound proof a section of my basement to stop the loud noise of my band and read about this product on a "how to" web sight. When you compare the price of Green Glue to sound proof drywall it is a bargain so I gave it a chance. I used two tubes for every 4x8 sheet of 5/8" sheetrock. We can play at full volume and you can hardly hear a peep outside and I believe what you can hear is leaking out of the ceiling as my house is very old and I was uncomfortable with how much extra weight two pieces of sheetrock would add to the floor joists. I found it took around three months before I noticed optimum sound proofing but the results were satisfactory from the get go. I guess it can take time to set up. Would be great for people who share a condo wall with a neighbor. One final note: I did a decibel test after putting up the first layer of sheetrock then did a couple other tests after using Green Glue and another 5/8" layer of sheetrock.

This product worked where others have failed me. We own a building with (2) adjacent apartments. The two share one old style wall (plaster | wood | space | wood | plaster). For years, I've been trying to isolate sound traveling from one to the other with little success. I first added blown in bat insulation in the space between the two wood layers. Not much better. Then I added a 5/8 soundproof sheet rock on one side. That helped a bit. Finally, I found Green Glue. I applied it on top of the plaster, placed a regular 1/2" sheet rock board on top, applied another layer of glue and followed with a 1/4" sheet rock board. Now I when I flush the toilet in one apartment (right against the common wall) I can't hear it at all on the other side. This despite the fact that I can hear the toilet flushing (3) rooms away in the apartment where the toilet is located! I can still hear very loud music or yelling (both very faintly), but the sound won't travel more than a room. Quick tips -- wait a couple days for the glue to dry before testing results and do fill in the seams in the sheet rock first. I overlapped the seams on the successive layers of sheet rock for best results.

Applied this to 5/8" sheetrock and then attached it to the existing wall of 1/2" sheetrock. It has helped reduce voices etc. coming through the common wall from the noisy boys next door, but hasn't done much to muffle the all night thumpa thumpa coming from the gaming console or doors slamming. I think the GreenGlue caulk applied in the gap beneath the existing drywall and the floor did a lot more to stop the sound, so pull your baseboards off and try that first before you go all in with this product. Best advice - cut 8" off each side of the sheetrock, so you end up with a 32" wide piece with flush edges. Attach to the wall (assuming 16" centers on studs) and caulk the seams with the GG caulk. Then nail/glue battens (1" x 2") or maybe a little wider at the seams after you run a long batten piece across the top and bottom of the wall (check board and batten out on Pinterest). Caulk and paint, you are done, no drywall tape and float and sanding needed.
