Proven Winners Fire Light Hardy Hydrangea (Paniculata) Live Shrub, White to Pink and Red Flowers, 1 Gallon

I purchased two of these plants. I must admit to being slightly nervous about buying a live plant online but they were delivered promptly and in good health. They were much larger plants than I thought they would be (3' tall or larger) which I'm happy with. I planted them several weeks ago and they are doing great (again a testimony to the health of the plant). One last thing - the plants I received had white flowers. For a bit, I thought I'd received the wrong type of hydrangea but I read the plant info that arrived in the box. Apparently these start out white & turn red in late summer or early fall. Looking forward to seeing their color.

Plant arrived in great condition and well packaged. The plant is small and is not full & lush as it will soon go into it's dormancy period for the winter. This is normal & what I expected. I bought online since my local plant stores don't carry this variety especially not this time of year. Can't wait to see how it grows next season. Thank you PW!

The plant arrived looking fairly good from the shipping. The next day my husband planted it with Miracle Grow in our front yard. We watered it when needed and it got good morning sun then indirect afternoon sun. In about 10 days it was totally dead. Our yard shows our good soil and expert care of plants and flowers but this was plant was the only one planted this year that died so my review reflects something very wrong with this plant. We have another hydrangea which is healthy and full so we know that this one was sick and a waste of money!

I bought this plant in May and it is doing great! The buds are showing and I should have flowers soon. Can't wait. Would buy again.

This is what I'll call a temporary rated review. I received this plant about the first of April. I had it indoors until May 8th. I placed it on my enclosed porches for a few hours each day for 3 days. I brought it in late every afternoon..the 8th, 9th and 10th. On the 11th I planted it outside and watered it on that day. May 14th it looks pretty much dead. All the green shoots are now a pale tan color. Maybe it's dead? I'll be back to change the review for the better or worse !UPDATE: The plant did survive and is healthy ! Now I change my rating from 2 stars to 4.UPDATE 17 October 2019. Now the Firelight is between 4 and 5 feet tall. It's a lot taller than it is wide. This summer it looked great! Now it's fall and it has dark red flower heads all over it. Outside temperature today is 45 degrees. Buying the Firelight Hyndrangea has turned out to be an excellent purchase !Update Sept, 2020. Now it's one of the healthiest and best looking bushes I have. Definitely got me money's worth on this purchase.

I was impressed that I could buy these and they looked good for a dormant plant until I planted them, then the leaves all turned black. I followed planting guide however, I chose to plant into a container until they could grow a little bigger. May not get opportunity to plant in the ground and I'm really not sure if there is any warty or a guaranty for these. I didn't see anything printed when I purchased. There may be a number to call about this with the packaging.

Wow! I expected not much more than a stick in the dirt with a root but this arrived beautiful! It was packaged perfectly, and even though the UPS guy was holding it sideways, despite clear labeling instructing to hold upright, the plant was not harmed. There were no blooms but the foliage is gorgeous. I will definitely be ordering more Proven Winners.
