how does it sound ran through a tube amp?

In my case, I created ,new sound bank without any preamp because that produce an awful noises. This pedal is great but you sould have in mind integrated preamp could affect the original signal and added to the preamp of your tube amplifier will overload the final signal giving a strong feedback and damaging your amp. The solution is turn off the preamp emulation.I hope you find this advice useful.

It really depends on how comfortable you are with technology in general. As multis go, this one is fairly easy to use and has lots of sounds for the money. But you'll probably have to check out the instructions. If you're more of a knob guy you could just get a couple of single stomp boxes and a wah, relax, and play!
