A Treasure
I LOVE this gem of a book by a senior instructor in the teacher network created by Mantak Chia, who brought powerful Taoist practices to the U.S. from Asia in the 1980s. Andrew suggests readers take a few days with each verse; I have spent more than a week each with just the first two verses, re-reading a single one just before bed (and after my daily practice of Taoist meditation/internal alchemy). It includes wonderful introductions to Taoist practices that have the potential to transform lives. He has created a creative and original format for alternating his interpreted Tao te Ching verses, written explanations of foundational Taoist meditation/alchemy practices, photographs of him doing basic chi kung postures, and even drawings of the human organs that these practices work with. This book is one of a kind, easy and pleasurable to read, and can be perused quickly while staying on the surface or used as a tool for going deep into Taoist philosophy, spirituality and techniques.Thank you, Andrew!-- Deborah "Jamalia" DakotaSilver City, NM

Really enjoyable.
I love to compare the different translations of the Dao De Jing. This one really does a good job of conveying the practical messages of the DDJ, especially regarding leadership. As a Qigong practitioner I found the accompanying exercises to be awesome.

Really enjoying this book.
This book helped me significantly today. Mainly the spirit behind it - humble, peaceful, simple, kind, clear. Really happy to have it on my shelf.

Great little book of common sense wisdom
Really useful combination and explanation of the Tao Te Ching and also of the inner smile and microcosmic orbit.A lovely book well worth not just reading but living with. Thanks.

I've loved this book!
I'll read it again and again, until "all the pennies drop"! It was a very straight forward book (and philosophical too)! It kept my mind thinking about lots of things, and made me more aware of my own body and my surroundings! Where can I find more books like this? I liked the writer's conclusion (in the last chapter)!! The Inner Smile part is also very interesting! (As I practiced, I felt "lighter" and happier!) I'd recommend this book for people who like philosophy and for those who are looking for ways to improve health and to expand their awareness and consciousness in the daily life! Thank you, Andrew McCart, for sharing your knowledge through this book!!

Well-planned
Delightful version of the Tao Te Ching which is down to earth, not flowery, and perfectly serviceable. Love the coverage of Tao tradition alongside images, too.

Refreshing Presentation of an Ancient Teaching.
Nice clear way of presenting the Tao. I also like Andrew’’s explanations for the different Qigong moves.
