I have since swapped to silicone door seal and it goes easily onto the seat and a roll is inexpensive and easy to replace monthly. Self adhering and works as well as the pguard . I now have a bunch of pguards in the cupboard ... **Q: How wide is this** A: Don’t know it’s been trashed **Q: I have an adult son with disabilities. He sits and holds it to the side, I plan to put this on that side. Will this work?** A: I don’t think so. This is hard plastic and it’s pre shaped. It’s held on by a magnet that sticks onto edge of bowl. It didn’t fit my toilet and i had to use extra 2 sided tape just to get them to hold. The design which i must admit is very ingenious and easy to use and clean was too good to toss so after a little thought I happened to have two N56 Neodymium 3/8 od x 1/8 Id x 1/8 thick magnets see picture two and placed them where the magnets are on the deflector and after a little adjustment to their location on the glued metal strip it worked great. I will be changing these to 1/2 OD x 1/8 Id x 1/4 thick and use three with one in the center as i am worried about it coming loose if grand kids slam the seat down. The “guard” part angles backward, interfering with it fitting inside the bowl. The product is inflexible, because of the excess thickness, which is a problem with different seat/bowl designs. It has reinforcing ribs buttressing the guard, which only make fit inside the bowl worse. There is no stretch. It is awkward to mark on the underside of the seat to fit the product. In fact, I never got it attached. Use the silicone jcrew it back in place and has been in place for a few weeks and I expect it to stay in place.
