Excellent Dummies Book
I bought this book to help me understand the anxiety a loved one is experiencing. He read it first and learned a tremendous amount, allowing him to relax a little about what he was feeling. I'm reading it now and understanding more, too. This is an especially good book for engineer types who like manuals, but is going to help anyone. The text is well organized and written to be easy to absorb. Stories of real people are helpful as well. There are resources in the back of the book for further reading, which I find particularly important.

This book has changed my life! If you are struggling with pain and headaches from stress, please try this book out! Has real professional psychology practices and therapies to really help you help yourself through it. I’m stronger and more in control. Helped me finally get to the doctor for medication to further my recovery. Thank you so much!

I'm a big fan of the "Dummies Books" and because there are some members of my family who are having problems with anxiety it was suggested to me to purchase this book. First step in my opinion is to seek professional help, however, this book is a good tool to help those of us to understand and be supportive of those in need.

Overcoming Anxiety for dummies
I purchased this for my daughter who is suffering from anxiety. She had some full blown panic attacks that kept her from working, socializing and almost all aspects of everyday living. The book will give you some ideas that you can use right away and that is what we were looking for. It has been updated recently and is quite easy to follow and understand. The title can be a little off-putting but if you can chuckle about that you are off to a good start.

A great overview in simple language.
I got this for a friend (really, I did!), but wanted to go through it to see if I thought it would be helpful before giving it to them. I was very impressed with the reader friendly presentation of information. Sure, people may have heard or read some of it before, but it is likely you will find at least a few new suggestions here.

This book is an excellent resource. It offers realistic help for those suffering from varying levels of anxiety. It also explains details to those who do not have anxiety; meaning it can work to help to communicate those hard details, symptoms & more. Anxiety often builds on itself, and this book helps break it down into manageable pieces.In short - a valuable tool for therapy, knowledge and detailed understanding.

Great start.
I think this is a great starting book to anyone with anxiety that hasn't researched a lot about it or hasn't seen a therapist or a professional yet. It really lays out the basics in a way that's easy to understand.

Really helpful book
I bought this book for someone whose anxiety has rendered them virtually housebound. They found it as relevant and useful as the same authors' book "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder for Dummies", by use of which they have been able to vanquish several of their compulsions.The book arrived quite quickly,despite the pre-Christmas post.

The only downside is that they dont give you enough ...
The only downside is that they dont give you enough breathing techniques or pictures, or other tools to deal with your anxiety.
