"generic" is not a manufacturer.** A: These disks were made for floppydisk by a private custom manufacturer. The term generic is used because they do not carry any branding on the disk shutter. **Q: Have received the 50 discs but the storage case was missing/not there ? I found a resource to get the originals, downloaded them, and used these disks to replicate them all. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Working well. *by V***A on September 17, 2019* You must know, these are used on machinery with al Old MS2 system, and is working well. ### ⭐ High Density Disks in Disguise *by A***R on May 23, 2017* I purchased these disks for use with both my Mac Plus and my Mac SE, neither of which will work with HD disks. After reading the other reviews on this site, I was concerned that I was going to get HD disks rather than DD. I cracked open the box and was very excited to see that they only had one hole at the top (although no DD logo). When I put one in my Power Mac 6100 to format, it correctly recognized it as an 800K disk, but when I tried to initialize it, it failed only a few seconds in. I pulled out another, and that one failed as well. I repeated this process until I had tried about 10 disks or so, and I finally got it to format! I was very disappointed with this box's high failure rate. I copied some files to that working disk and stowed it away for a bit. About a month later, I came back to that disk. Every single file I put on there had been corrupted. It was at that moment I put two and two together: this is exactly the behavior that you would expect if you put tape over the second hole on an HD disk. I had tried it once before when I needed a DD disk in a fringe, and this is exactly what happened. For the sake of science, I pulled out one of the disks that wouldn't even format. I tested it again in many machines and still could not get it to format. Then, I took it over to my power drill and drilled a hole right where the second hole would be on an HD disk. I took it over to my computer, and it formatted first try as a 1.44 MB disk. Wild, huh? You know what was even wilder, I was able to copy about 1.4 MB of data onto the disk, then take it to a totally different computer, and every file was still there, not corrupted at all. This would have been impossible with a Double Density disk, therefore they cannot be DD disks. tl;dr These are not double density disks, even if they come in double density disk housing. Don't waste your money on them.
