I have designed many products, and at NASA we always looked for the most innovative ways to create devices that solve problems for our pilots (I did the study that led to redesign of the F16 hand controller which was terrible in the 80's). Well, listen up EDC guys and those who spend a fortune on these expensive "tactical pens" with lights that are so poorly designed. One has a light on the cap so it takes two hands. The other has a light that....I still don't get how it works, as it is so complex AND EXPENSIVE. This product is OPTIMAL. The design, putting the light at the bottom with the ergonomics to fit the hand so well, and a little "grippy" coating on the pen is amazing. Also the ergonomics of the light? How could it be more simple. One click light off, second click light on. BUT IT PUTS THE LIGHT RIGHT WHERE YOU NEED IT. I do certain types of work at night outside where I need to write down information quickly. By putting the light at the bottom, it could be total darkness and my little notebook is illuminated with light dispersed so you see the page as your writing. The company: OK, this blows my mind. I had a minor issue with two different products at the same time. This one, and a shredder. The shredder company did not respond for 2 months until I had to get Amazon higher up support involved to handle it which was not fun and took so much time. With the pen? Talk about underpromise-overdeliver? They were extremely responsive and said they would mail me a little part. What did I receive? 3 x more brand new pens when I simply needed a part for one AND a newer product that is called the Fashion Case Original, a pen that is very beautiful for office use (from my perspective). It has a slider switch to turn it on and produces a beautiful blue light. I highly recommend this pen for everyone. Even sitting watching TV in a darkly lit room, you receive a call and need to write down important information. I have a small note pad (like a field note...same quality but less expensive) with the Glovion pen attached. You click it twice, and do not have to turn the lights on to see what you are writing. Thanks for such a great job on this pen and the AMAZING support. It surpasses NASAGUY's high standards indeed. I will post a video of how cool it is later.

Amazing pen. I sometimes have a brilliant idea in the middle of the night. With this pen you don't need to turn on room lights. One click and you have an ordinary pen. Two addition clicks and the red led lights!. Very practical for taking notes when in a darken room or lecture hall. Pens can also be purchased with white, yellow or blue tips. Extremely effective. Comes with extra batteries. Batteries can be purchased anywhere.

I was really looking forward to receiving these pens because I wanted to be able to use them at night and not need to have my lights on when writing or reading. I was a bit disappointed when the light started dimming after 3-5 minutes of use. When I contacted customer support, they informed me the batteries are meant to dim the light over time but they recharge to full capacity after the pen light is turned off for awhile. This works well for people who are trying to write lists or do things briefly in the dark. If you are looking for a small light to read with though, when you don't have a booklight, this is not the option. The pen can be used with or without the light, but the light cannot be used without the pen being clicked out. They stylus at the end of the clicker is amazing and makes life really easy. I still think the pens were a little overpriced since they dim so quickly, but they write extremely smoothly and these pens impress a lot of people. I am constantly being asked where I bought these pens from and then direct them towards Glovion. I highly recommend Glovion products though because their customer support was amazing. They are always trying to make their customers happy and if you are not satisfied for any reason they will do their best to make it right. If you like to write a lot during the night Glovion does have other pens with a bigger battery that allows you to write with light longer before it dims out. I highly recommend checking those out if you need something different.

Great idea but the red light is way too bright for taking nighttime notes. Works great as a mini flashlight though.

I bought these hoping I could put a Frixion erasable refill in so I could use it with my Rocketbook, but the cartridge is part of the switch system and it's a special shape and can't be swapped out. Going to keep the pens, but can't use them as I originally intended.

Rcvd. in reasonable time. Pens were exactly as advertised. They have a good, solid feel to them and write smoothly. I really like the red led as it is plenty bright for its purpose without being glaringly bright like most of the white led pens available on the market these days. Had previously bought the "pilot's pen" available on Amazon. They have a similar feel to them, but the batteries on every pen I purchased did not last. On the first use, the led light in the tip of the pens started fading almost immediately. These pens, so far, have kept a reasonable amount of steady light. I use them daily, or rather nightly, for writing in a dark area and the light is just the right level brightness that I would choose even if they had a dimmer function built in. I have even used them for a flashlight on midnight bathroom trips so that I did not have to disturb my wife by turning on the bedside lamp. The only thing I have negative to say about them is that the cap that goes on the end with the stylus can easily be lost, as it does not really snap on and off, but the cap itself is not vital to the function of these pens. I would definitely still recommend these to anyone that has the need for a useful, unobtrusive light for either writing or navigating a dark house.

I work as a Flight Medic and have used several styles of pens with lights on the end while flying. These are my favorite so far. They have different color options including a multicolor pack. I like these because in general the pen and ink work as I would expect, the body isn't too fat so it slides into pen slots on my flightsuit and has a rubber stylus on the clicker (if that's something you like to use). Clicking once exposes the pen alone, close and reopen and the light turns on and exposes the pen. I have used a few brands where the light is just too bright and is hard to look at as it reflects too much light off of my paperwork while in the plane or helicopter. The softness of the red and blue lights are my favorite. The white light would work fine for checking pupils whereas the red and blue lights won't. I highly recommend this pen to anyone wanting a reliable product at a fair price.

A couple days ago, I was all set to give this product a 5 star review with lots of superlatives. GREAT out of the box performance. The pen has 2 integrated functions -- writing AND light. Lots of products do one or the other. I used the pens for about a week, mostly as a pen, but occasionally with the light. The pen wrote very smoothly and with good dark ink (no smearing). The light is great too. But then yesterday the pen began skipping showing a failing ink supply. Trying to shake the ink towards the tip helped for a short while, as did storing the pen tip-down overnight. In total the writing I've done is less than a page -- FAR less than I'd expect from an ink refill. The seller thoughtfully included extra refills in the package. I'll replace with one of those, but if it underperforms like this first one did, the whole package will go back. Again, I didn't buy JUST a flashlight, or JUST a pen -- it was the combination that attracted -- and with reasonable functionality expected of both. Yes, I could carry an extra pen for when I don't need the light, but why? This pen has an unlighted mode and should work that way for a reasonable period of time before a refill is needed. If what I've experienced is a fluke, I'll change the rating -- AFTER that is proven. For now I suggest AVOIDING!!!

These pens are exactly what I needed. They are bright enough to write by but dim enough to keep the room dark for my spouse. Unlike twist-on pens that tend to loosen over time, these have a sturdy click mechanism. I find the blue light much softer on the eyes than the white version. Great for bedside use or traveling on a plane

Great value for only AUD22. Three pens, SIX refills and three sets of three G4 batteries. The pens really work well with a really bright light so great in the dark.

I ordered these pens for my work as I do a lot of writing in the dark as a Corrections Officer. The build quality is decent and once everyone sees me use it they always ask where I got it and now a bunch of other Officers now use this pen once they see me use it. I would and I do recommend the pen to anyone who writes in the dark. They do have a red light which is good to use in a tactical setting as it does not hinder your line of sight.

I really like these pens. I'm using the stylus tip to write this review right now. The clicking feel of retracting the pen in and out feels great, solid and firm. I feel safe placing them in my white work shirt without fear of accidental retraction leading to an ink stain. The light is bright and shaded blue for reasonable brightness without being over saturated. I was surprised the box came with 3 pens. 1 problem though, 1 pen has a broken light. Pen and stylus remain perfectly functional hence 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5
