Yakima 8810072 Q Clip Vinyl Pad

The pads are a perfect replacement but honestly black duct tape would've probably been good enough.

These vinyl pads make the Q-Clips slippery on the painted surface of the door frame. I am nervous about traveling with my gear up top now. When reinstalling the rack after installing the vinyl pads, I would wiggle the cross bar and the clip would let go of the door frame. I had to adjust the crossbars numerous times before they would stay in place. I am still leary of them as the clips still pull away from the door frame. The old pads were this mini cell foam type material and would stay in place much better.

Product is as described. The adhesive doesn't stick 100%, but does the job.

These pads stick to the Q clips easy enough, but I have noticed that they do come unstuck from the clips pretty easy as well. Now this doesn't matter as much because the pad is being held tightly by your car and the clip, but if you take your bike rack off a few times they will fall off fairly easy and you may have to pick some more up in the future.

Works as designed

They severed there purpose and have protected the truck paint so far. Despite deep cleaning the surface before installing these I am still getting 2 out of 4 of the starting to try to come off after about 6 months, the compression from the rack clamps is keeping them in place, but I feel the adhesive material could of been better.
