Original Album Classics

Great package of 5 albums from the Fanclub's heydays at an unbeatable price. Nice to see each album get its own spotlight from beginning to end, something a playlist or singles/hits collection doesn't do very well.

These albums are not remastered so the sonics are very poor and reflect the technology of the time when the albums were released. Each album comes in a thin cardboard sleeve replica of the album cover and they are housed in a cardboard slip case. There are no liner notes. You only need this version if you want an easy way to get all of their cd's in one go and you can get a good deal for it. Otherwise there's no reason to pick this up. Better to just get the individual CD's you want.

Such a great deal for these amazing albums

Not sure what the other reviewer here was looking for in terms of "sonics" but to his suggestion to buy the individual albums instead, NONE of THEM are "remastered" EITHER so....??? I OWN most of the original-individual and they SOUND FINE (to my picky ear). SO if you DON'T have any of them, buying this will save space on your shelf AND pay only ONE TIME $3.99 shipping (insteaed of 3.99 X's FIVE) ...and just FYI,"...Noel Gallagher hit the proverbial nail on the head in 1997 when he sat his labelmates Teenage Fanclub down at Air Studios in London and proclaimed them to be the second-best band in the world. He was right --" (this lifted from an AMG review) and I couldn't agree more. These guys are the best band you probably never heard of.

The greatest band that you've never heard of. In a better world, these guys would be household names. Do yourself a favour, buy this immediately and fill your life with joy.

A group of mates living in what could be called a 'sink hole' estate between Glasgie and 'Auld Reekie' form a band in a mates bedroom and produce some of the finest 'power pop' since 'Big Star'!If you want a cheap entry to these guy's talent. This is for you.If you love music and fall for them then the only other option is 'sweaty palm' bidding for the originals on line.Not saying all albums are 5 star, but they are so good dinna quibble what you get. It's braw.

One of the most overlooked bands of the 90's, this set of cd's is a bargain. Starting with the sublime 'Bandwagonesque' and ending with 2000's , 'Howdy'. It's an amazing consistent selection of songs, my favourite album is grand prix and songs from nothern britain a close second, with the song speed of light being my favourite. If you like melodic pop record similar in vain to the gin blossoms or soul asylum, these albums are for you. Easy to listen too, I keep going through the collection.Worthwhile investment.

Teenage Fanclub at their finest ! An incredible bargain for five CDS. The peerless Grand Prix and Songs from Northern Britain contain songs with the finest jangly guitars and wonderful harmonies. Aint that enough, Sparkys dream and Your love is the place I come from for me rank with the greatest songs ever written. They deserve to be a far bigger band than they are and this brilliant set of albums is a great starting place to get to know this superb music
