The chicken or the egg?
Shows how the story line was first conceived as the basis of a film, but had to be developed as a novel before being adapted to its original format.

The Third Man (Audio Reading).
I 'm a huge fan of this story by Graham Green and this is an excellent reading of the story by Martin Jarvis who, in my opinion, is one of the best audio book readers there is. It is basically faithful to the way the movie was filmed, with the story told from the viewpoint of Colonel Calloway and the short musical intros to each chapter of the Harry Lime Theme makes this a first class audio book which i have no hesitation in giving five stars. I recommend this version to any audio book fan and fan of the novella.

Perhaps Greene's Finest?
I'll start this by saying I have held Graham Greene as a library must for about 12 years now. I haven't read everything, but nearly everything. As you may know, Greene classified his own work as either "serious" or "entertainments," and this would be categorized as the latter. However, don't take Greene's labels too seriously; this book has a great depth. The story revolves around a man who may or may not have fallen into the illegal underworld in postwar Vienna; he's pursued by a former colleague, with whom he as an inevitable interaction; that scene is one of the most powerful I've seen in Greene. If you haven't read Greene, this is a great starting point; if you have read Greene, then you must must must read this. The movie is excellent, but this is one of the few books where book and movie can stand together. Read the book first.

Original Story that Became "The Third Man" Movie
Excellent background of the storyline Graham Greene used as the basis for his classic screenplay to the film, "The Third Man," developed in collaboration with director Carol Reed. Priceless too is Greene's preface that explains how he developed the story and the screenplay. This larger print version makes for a fast read, and if you've already seen the movie, you'll immediately see several differences, extra material, and character internal thoughts not shown in the movie. For me, I appreciated having the two different storylines to understand better the author's underlying plot intentions. Together, they provide a more complete picture. For fans of the movie or followers of Graham Greene, this supporting volume is an essential volume to have.
