OSTI Original Stainless Steel Cheese Slicer with Durable Plastic Handle

I got this without reading the reviews and I gotta say my experience has not been what some people are reporting here. This is a very nice wire cutter with a nice design. The threaded end piece allows you to keep a very tight wire, which makes a better cut. I don't know how so many people are breaking these, but I imagine they are trying to cut through thick rind, which this isn't great for. However, this will do just fine on harder cheeses parmesan, pecorino, etc.. I just recommend using a knife to cut or remove the rind and use this for slicing.

This item broke on first use. The wire did not break but a small piece came off…never to be found. I should’ve read all of the negative reviews before purchasing.

Great product. Easy to slice hard cheeses with 2 different thicknesses. Value for money.

My traditional Y-shaped cheese slicer is still working fine, but is getting a little discolored and I was looking for something "prettier" to use on cheese boards.This definitely fills that need. It's sleek and clean looking and the pencil shape of it also allows it to lay nicely on a cheese or charcuterie board without taking up much space. Aesthetically speaking, it's beautiful and our friends definitely noticed and commented.One side slices thinner and the other side is set to a thicker slice - - they aren't adjustable.I will say that actual use of a Y-shaped slicer is more comfortable. With those wishbone slicers you are pulling in a straight line (parallel to your arm) and the handle is evenly spaced between the cutting wire. With this stick design, you are holding it at a angle to your arm and because the handle is at one end of the cutting wire, it's a little more difficult to cut symmetrical even slices. There's also a there's a little more stress on your wrist.Granted, unless you're slicing a massive chunk of cheese with this, the lesser ergonomics of this will probably not matter all that much. If your hands are weak or if you have wrist issues though, this may not be as comfortable for you than the traditional wishbone style design.But, did I say it was purdy. Sometimes form over function is worth it. In this case, I think it is.

I was so happy to find this, we use it a lot and have zero complaints. It’s easy to use, the wire is strong, smooth slice, and looks nice too.

I would not have given it any stars if that was an option. I bought 2 OSTI 822 cheese slicers. The first one broke about the 3rd use, and the second one broke on the first use. I was slicing a relatively soft cheddar cheese. I notified the manufacturer after the first one broke, and again when the second one broke. It has been 6 days since I first notified the company, and have had no response yet from them yet.

Absolutely the best cheese slicer ever. I received my first cheese slicer like this for a wedding gift over 36 years ago from family in Denmark 🇩🇰 after many many years I had to replace it, was so happy to have found the exact style. This is perfect for block cheeses, looks elegant at a table setting,works perfectly on hard or soft cheeses. Makes a grand wedding or anniversary gift. Definitely the perfect little gift to yourself too.

After using several horizontal wire cheese slicers that cut thicker slices than I wanted, I finally found this option. It is perfect! There are two sides- both of which give a thinner slice than the more common horizontal wire slicer. This simply works better for me- I love cheese but am also counting calories. With thinner slices I get coverage without too much cheese.
