Nice thermometer. Has a magnet built in so sticks to the side of the microwave just above the oven, always there when we need it.The watch battery lasted about a year, just replaced the battery hope to get more years of use.

I received the thermometer within a day of ordering. I do lots of grilling and smoking, and these help you ensure the meat is at the correct temperature. The thermometer comes in a nice box, shrink wrapped with instructions and a spare battery. There is no little tab to pull to activate the unit, so if yours sat on the shelf for a while, the spare battery would com in handy from the start. I'll tuck mine away for later. It is a standard CR2032 battery available most anywhere batteries are sold.This thermometer has a feature I've not seen on other instant read thermometers, a calibration feature. The instructions provided tell you to take cup of ice water from the fridge, and immerse the probe in the ice water. I found that placing the probe directly on a ice cube provided better results. The thermometer correctly read 32 degrees F out of the box. I tested in boiling water, and got a reading of 111.8 F which was close enough for me.I probed steaks just removed from Sous Vide bath, and the temperature was exactly what was set.The thermometer has a hole in the handle for hanging, but the instructions indicate it can be hung vertically on the refrigerator using the internal magnet. A great tool for the money!

I purchased this after my old digital thermometer suddenly stopped working. I cook a lot and I’ve been cooking even more often during quarantine, even making dishes using bulk meat straight out of the freezer so I felt a replacement food thermometer was a necessity. I did a few tests and it seems very accurate with both hot & cold temps. I like that the probe tucks away and it turns on & off by pulling it out and clicking it back into place. It’s super easy to see the large readout with the backlight and there’s a strong magnet to hang it on your fridge or the side of your oven to keep it handy. I was also glad to see that while it came with a battery pre-installed there was also a backup battery in the package. Considering the ease of use, functionality, & price I’m very happy with this digital thermometer and I’d recommend it to other home chefs.

I have had this thermometer for a couple of weeks now and have used it for baking, cooking, and measuring ambient air temps for bread proofing, and it works quite well and it is precise. It also measures quickly enough for my needs (within a few seconds) and is also a good size for holding and the screen is also quite large which makes reading it easy, especially if you are at least an arms length away. Overall, a very good value. I will be interested to see if it the unit holds up over the next several months, but the quality seems pretty good.

I have always considered myself pretty careful about food safety. I thought I was cooking adequately based on cooking time, temperature and appearance. Then 4 years ago I bought my first meat thermometer – this Deiss PRO Digital Meat Thermometer. Turns out cooking time, temperature and appearance are just guessing points – and I was often guessing very wrong.So now I always check with my thermometer and have the satisfaction of knowing the food is safe. And, as an extra bonus, I also get a more consistently pleasing taste.So . . . 5 stars.But I wish I could give an extra star or two for incredible customer service. A few days ago, when I was drying the probe of my thermometer after a thorough wash, the probe pulled out of its socket. I carefully tucked the wire back and reinserted the probe, but the unit only displayed gibberish.So I went on Amazon to buy a replacement, and I noticed there’s a “Lifetime Warranty”. I was a bit skeptical, as the item was 4 years old, and there are a lot of weasel warranties out there. But I figured what the heck, I went to the Deiss website and sent a message telling them what happened.The very next morning, I had an email saying it was covered by the warranty, and I should send my Amazon order number and current shipping address. (The Amazon order number was no problem since Amazon keeps all your information for you. Click on the black banner /“Returns and Orders”).Three days later a new Deiss PRO was in my mailbox.Great product. The Manufacturer backs it. Don’t try to guess if your fish is done.

This was a great item. I was very pleased with it. I replaced the battery one time. Now it does not work. I replaced the battery again and nothing. All that showed up are the letters LLLL or upside down 7777. How do I replace this item?

I have an older non-digital meat thermometer and it takes forever to read the internal temp. But I've always found it to be relatively accurate. And just kept relying on it. Finally, though, I decided to go digital. What I love about it is how quick the reading is. The old one took 30-45 seconds to get a reading. The digital one took 1 second. And I tested the non-digital against the digital and they both gave about the same reading. I'm a fan!
