Little Thinker Edgar Allan Poe Doll

I purchased the Little Thinker Edgar Allen Poe for my daughter as a Christmas present. A poet and writer in her junior year of HS, she is a fan of Poe's writings and I thought this would make an excellent and unexpected present - I was correct! She lit up when opening this gift and now her Little Poe is her greatest writer's buddy and inspirational pal. He watches over her as she writes, gracing her with creativity and endless musings through her writing. She also shared him with her creative writing teacher and classmates and they all equally took to the little fellow. Another excellent purchase from the Unemployed Philosophers Guild, this mini-Poe measure about 12" long, his legs naturally fold forward so that he sits. His tiny raven obediently perched on his shoulder as if whispering into his master's ear...it can be easily detached and reattached (she absolutely loved this part). Poe's sad eyes brilliantly depict the tragic soul that was this tormented genius, a man whose writing reflects the gamut of emotions and human suffering but in a way that so few writers could match. Tragedy of this man's art and life aside, the Little Thinker Poe is a very well made collectible for any writer, young or old. He wears a velvety jacket and all details of this doll are well thought through and constructed. He looks exactly as he is shown here but is somehow bigger than what you may have imagined. This item makes a great gift! My daughter and her classmates all now want the other icons in this series. looks like Christmas and Birthdays are now covered for the next decade - sweet!

My daughter is a great Salvador Dali Fan. The doll is adorable. I purchased two Edgar Allen Poe dolls too. They are well made and good quality...very soft. She loved hers, and I kept one for myself.I will add to my collection soon, and hope to collect all "little thinkers".....Where is Charles Dickens??

I just had to have my own little Edgar. He is just adorable and the quality of construction is beyond what I expected. I love his velvet suit and the detachable raven is a bonus! I have since purchased Ernest Hemingway and Vincent Van Gogh--both of which are just as cute. So, the piece is a sturdy construction as a knick-knack, but I don't know how well it would function as a plaything for a child.I bought this as a decoration for my sister's office, and she loves him. So, he lives full-time in a funeral home, and seems very happy there. She was delighted, and so is everyone else who "meets" Edgar.

This thing is heavy! My daughter's favorite poet she will love the Xmas gift!

My six year old fell in love with Edgar Allan Poe after reading the childrens illustrated version of his tales of terror. We have to read The Raven before bed every night and when I found this doll I knew it would be the perfect birthday gift. I cant say how much my son enjoys this toy, since his birthday hasn't come yet, but Edgar passes with me! The little raven on his shoulder is adorable and will be a touch my kid will love. He's soft and cloth and that will make him a good bedfellow. What an awesome toy to correspond with reading!

Drab workspace or bookcase? Nevermore! Purchase your very own little Poe to display next to your growing collection of Poe anthologies. Bought this as a gift for a Poe-obsessed friend and she absolutely loved him, raven and all. He was actually much bigger than I thought he would be. The quality of the plush is ok. Then again, it's not exactly made for cuddling. Still pretty cute though.
