I switched over to this type after trying another brand out while using a straight razor. I discontinued using the straight razor due to medical problems in my hands but the soap, especially this soap works really well keeping the hide on my face intact with no razor burn afterwards and a very close, clean shave. It had a nice aroma if matched with the same scent aftershave, cologne and deodorant combo will work well.

First I really like the aroma of barrel and oak. Reading all the other reviews about great lather I’ve concluded that I have a bad puck. I don’t get the lather I did with Williams over the last thirty years. The second con is that the puck is larger and don’t fit to the bottom of my mug. I’ll use this one up, but I don’t think I’ll buy another one. I’m pretty partial to my 20 plus year old vase mug.

I don’t know what they do differently from others but this is the best shave soap I’ve used. Lathers up great, the razor almost glides on your skin it’s so smooth, I have a couple spots that always get razor burn which I thought was just price of shaving, not with this one!I’ll probably never bother even trying anything else

It comes free standing, it is not in the manufacturing case, so you can use the entire soap.

What else could you expect. Has a nice smell, not over powering. Develops a good lather, razor has a nice glide. Will buy again..

This is my favorite shave soap lately. I see the other review about lather and I found the same thing with a brush. I just rubbed the bar on my face and scalp and found it to work great. Nice thick cushion of lather. Pretty slippery but not as slippery as some others. It’s not the absolute best for glide and cushion but it is by far the best naturally derived shave soap I’ve ever found. Usually the natural type of soaps really suck but this is a great balance of performance and lack of crazy chemical names. I absolutely love the Olivina bourbon cedar scent but this bar is very subtle. The conditioning shave cream is much stronger but doesn’t work as well or last nearly as long as this bar. I am definitely ordering more of this. 4 stars for vague scent though.

I have brought this 3 years ago because target used to sell it but no longer sell it now. I did not like because I have brought the van der Hagen shaving set and I did not now how to do a good lather with the soap puck and the shave brush that was it the set to me suck it shed like crazy hair all over my face. I bought it again because I have a better brush and know how to lather better so I wanted to try it again because some videos on YouTube said it was good so I ordered it. Then I tried it. It actually lathers good when you work it but the lather disappears and had to apply more and more then I wet it so mush that the shave soap kind off shrink a little and I tried to apply it and quickly shave at that spot before it disappears it did ok but it was slick but did not offer protection on the skin for me probably because I have sensitive skin and I heard that this soap give a light lather when in used which I think is silly because soap buck is suppose to lather more but it didn’t or it does but disappears by the time I was done I feel nicks and cuts all over my face which it stings when I put after shave on and it burns so I’m giving this two stars because it did not protect my skin which I think is most important and the lather takes more time to do but does not do much and disappears I would rather use Edwin jaggers shave soap which lathers nicely and gives me good protection for my skin. The Olivina shave soap to me is not a good soap the other reviews don’t make sense but other people like so it’s not my problem but I am not throwing it away I am using it as a bath soap maybe it will do a better job at that besides this soap is ten dollars which I think is too much for this soap and because the performance is not the great anyone who sees this I recommend to not buy this soap buy other soap brands for shaving like proraso, van der Hagen, pacific shaving co, tabac and club men shave soap these are good and etc. don’t buy this olivina if your new to wet shaving and even you are not don’t buy it.

This is very good quality especially for the price people complain because it does not lather up much you do not need a lot of leather people are just used to the cheap foam shaving cream. A very big side effect or advantage is that this mixture of essential oils acts as an astringent and will tighten your skin. If you rub some on your forehead it will "remove" the wrinkles and you will look relatively younger, did not believe that until people started noticing it on me. That's because the astringent tightens the muscle. I even use this on my mom before doing a clay then raw honey facial.
