I smacked my antenna on a tree hard enough to finally knock it off, and the cord snapped.That's not a bug, the point is, when this happened I ordered another identical one. I've never had it come off when i wouldn't have snapped my antenna in half otherwise. Breakaway like that is a feature in my opinion.I'll probably switch to a bumper mount eventually, but that's just 'cause I keep hitting the antenna on trees when out on little dirt roads. This guy performs brilliantly for the product it is.Sorry, but honestly I haven't used the radio enough to comment much on the quality of the connections.

I have 2 of these and am able to use them to keep a tri-band antenna on the roof of my van. This antenna is for 6M / 2M / 440, so it's quite tall, and has a fair amount of wind resistance. I haven't tested how fast I can drive with the tall antenna, but I can go up to 70 MPH and the magnet still holds. I've only used it on FM, so I can't speak to the quality of the cable for weak signal work, but so far so good. It's a very good mount at a pretty decent price.

has done a great job for me. REALLY strong magnet. have had it knocked off my truck roof one time by really low hanging limb. have driven 75-80 mph and never had it move on the roof. I'm more concerned about it denting the roof when I take it off or if it gets knocked off than losing it! it's that strong. have to be careful when you remove or move it or you'll damage your paint finish or metal on roof or trunk. very satisfied with it.

I love this mag mount! Well made & very sturdy, no movement whatsoever off road or on the freeway. It is pretty big though, so if you have a small vehicle it may look a little "clunky". Again, a very nice mount for your antenna.

large, sturdy base with a stout magnet...attached coax is long with a sturdy crimped PL 259 connector on the end; I run a dual mode 2m/440 antenna for my base ham radio TS-2000 on this with a rg 213 feedline

This magnet base holds good on top of my truck,,,,The ANLI DC-124H fits great on this base, and has not come off,,,,love the base,,,,,get one, you will love it.
