Very Informative for the first time business lessee
"Negotiate the Best Lease for Your Business" provides the basic information for the first time business owner considering renting office space. The book is well organized and easy to understand. It covers many aspects involved from looking for office space to understanding terms in a lease and legal considerations. This book is a guide for the future lessee as to what to expect and recommendations of when to seek professional services in areas of law,real estate, and others. Every business situation is unique, so it is not an answer to everything which applies to you. Overall, I found the book very helpful.

Wide coverage discussing the ins and outs of the many topics of commercial property leasing. But would have been better if they included example sections of a lease in the wording they recommend. My landlord's lease was 11 single space pages of very small font, that was total one-sided in favor of the landlord.

Awful, far below the NOLO standard
Wow, I can't believe NOLO put their name on this book! It is terrible! The author routinely uses obscure terms like "attornment" without ever defining them! Plus there's at least 50 pages of junk filler material in the middle about "making worksheets". Come on, I know how to make a pros/cons list, I bought this book to learn about the law. I'm not a two-year-old.What junk. NOLO, fire this guy and get a real author to write you a tenant-focused leasing book. You deserve a better one.

Must buy if you are negotiating a lease!
Wonderful book. I even taught my Realtor a few things after reading it. Really helped educate me on what I should be asking my attorney and agent.

This book is perfect for what we needed as a first time business leasee. Knowledge is key in any negotiation allowing you to negotiate from a position of strength. This book gives you that knowledge.The potential to save money and/or not get stuck in a long term lease on an inappropriate property makes this a must-have book. Read it before signing any lease contract.
