I love me some Ray Bradbury!
A great collection of short stories, whimsical, uplifting, mystifying. What a dreamer of dreams this man was. I hope I can find some thing else he has written that I haven’t read yet.

An early volume (1951) with many worthwhile stories to read and, at the same time, see Bradbury's writing experiments.
This is an early Ray Bradbury book. I had not read any Bradbury for many years. Somewhere around 5th grade I discovered him and read his short stories relentlessly. I wanted to go back and read "The Pedestrian." This story which chronicles the last pedestrian in a world diverted by video inspired me to avoid network TV and walk. Its been nearly 50 years and I still keep the discipline. Thank you Mr. Bradbury. It was fun to see a young Ray Bradbury experimenting with words and structure as he developed his style. Yes, some of the stories are less inspiring than others. Some are truly amazing and even familiar. The good ones presage his future greatness and make the whole book a good read.

Loved this book!
I am a huge Ray Bradbury fan. He was one of the greatest writers ever to come out of the United States. His work is creative, intelligent and moving. His short stories never cease to fascinate me. This collection has several that favorites of mine. "The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit" and "The Pillar of Fire" are among my favorites. I would recommend this book to any fan of good writing. Bradbury may be categorized as a sci-fi writer, but, to me, his work transcends genres. I can't imagine anyone reading his stuff and not loving it.

Strange medicine
Ray Bradbury tales seep into your everyday life weaving spells into corners of the attic shelves we've neglected or left piled up with the things we wish to leave behind. Escape is not possible, we are the tales and if we are very careful to slip the knots of time we may be able to "Name it to tame it" and not be evasive or scared any more. Bravo Bradbury!!!

Great read.
Haven't read this in 40 years and was as good as I remembered. Bradbury is a classic American author.

To be read over and over
I love this collection of Bradbury short stories, and just purchased it for my Kindle. They can be read over and over and the language is lovely. I especially love "The Scent of Sarsaparilla" but they're all good. You don't need monsters from space to create enchanting science fiction. You just need Ray Bradbury.
