Appropriate for Level 3 piano lessons
I have purchased Alfred's Piano books for Levels 1 & 2 and am happy with all three. I will continue to use this series as a beginning adult piano student.

WHAT is it WITH these books? Five Stars - That's What!
Before Christmas, I asked my daughter (age 50) what she wanted for Christmas. She named a batch of Alfred Piano Books. What? OK, if that is what you want. My daughter has a piano from decades ago, when her own kids abandoned lessons and went on to other noteworthy stuff (basketball, gymnastics, etc.)I couldn't imagine what my daughter wanted with these books. I personally cannot believe that a skills such as playing the piano, can be transferred from a book.Recently, I was at her house and reading, and I heard the piano, and I recognized the tune - a song I liked. I thought - NO WAY! Oh yes! Way! My daughter is playing the piano and making excellent progress, and having the time of her life while doing it. It seems she always kinda wanted to know how to play. And - By George (or more appropriately "By Alfred" or "By W.A. Palmer") she is playing!I am amazed, and I am very happy with the results of these books! So is my daughter! Absolutely recommend them!!!! FIVE STARS for Alfred's Basic Piano Course

No lo hagas solo
Necesitas a un profesor que domine el material para sacarle provecho. Es un excelente material.

Solid series with fun supplements
As a piano teacher of students from beginners through HS for the past 15 years, I am a big fan of the Alfred series. The Lesson Book is a solid teaching tool, and the additional books, including Solo Book, Fun Book, Recital Book, Theory Book, Technique Book, etc. are great resources. The Lesson Books walk a student methodically through the basics, building each lesson on the last. I particularly like the approach through Book 2 and 3 of teaching the I, IV, and V7 chords, then implementing them so consistently. This is always a little confusing to students right at first, but by the middle of this Level 3 book, they have a solid grasp and are delighted to find these chords throughout all of their literature.I do find that some of the supplementary books are best started a little after the matching Lesson Book. I also find that the Christmas books in the Alfred series are much smaller (fewer songs) and have less variety than some of the other publishers, so even though I own them, I prefer other books.

Finally fun songs to play!
I enjoyed this book because it's challenging but not just a bunch of exercises. The songs are fun to play, while learning proper form, technique and theory.

Next Step in Piano
Easy to read and understand. Have used the two other books - level 1 and 2. Bought this to accompany the Level 3 Adult Book my instructor used.
