POETIC Slimline Case with Auto Wake and Sleep Function for Google Nexus 7 FHD 2nd Generation 2013 Android Tablet - Light Blue

This is a great flip case for the Galaxy Nexus 7 (2013). It is a great fit and the feel of the material is very nice. The main reason that I am giving this product 5 stars is because of product quality for the price. This only cost me $18 and it is a great product for that price. I understand that I can get a slightly better product by purchasing the official Google Nexus 7 case but it is way more ($40 to $50).I would recommend this case to anyone looking for a nice, simple case for their tablet.

The Poetic case is so much nicer than the manufacturer's case that came with the Nexus 7. The Poetic case provides great protection and is very light weight. I've purchased Poetic cases before for myself and gifts for my kids, and have always been pleased with quality, tablet protection and price. The Nexus case is another winner by Poetic.

I read so many mixed reviews about this case that I had no idea what I was going to end up with--a simple and elegant method of 2013 Nexus 7 screen protection or a shoddy piece of garbage! (It sounds like it may become the latter as time goes on, so if I notice any particular issues I will update my review!) I've had it for a few weeks now, and so far so good.It was a toss-up between this and one of the Moko cases, but ultimately it came down to style preference. Several of my family members have smart-covers for their iPads, and I wanted something that emulated that functionality. This is not an expensive case, and the materials used in its construction reflect that. But after reading dozens of reviews, I was prepared for what I received. And though it isn't made of leather and carbon fiber, for $15 I have no complaints! It does what it is supposed to do: fits my tablet nice and snug, microfiber on the inside of the flap limits screen smudges, wakes/fades the tablet when I open/close it, and magnets prevent slipping and scratching.The Slimline is not a case that I would want to test against slips and spills, so if you're looking for hardcore protection, look elsewhere. I bought it to prevent/limit scratches on the screen and body of my Nexus 7, and to create an attached stand for the tablet. Around the house, this is usually the only case that my Nexus has on it. However, I do carry my tablet around with me all day in a crammed backpack, so I also bought the padded KAYSCASE Pouch Cover to really protect it (if you don't mind some extra bulk, I highly recommend this course of action). It's possible that this second case has extended the life of my Poetic Slimline (I just close the Slimline and slip it into the Pouch Cover), but so far, I haven't noticed any wear on the Slimline. Maybe I just got lucky!I read on my tablet all the time and use it pretty extensively for note-taking and email, so that, coupled with packing up and unpacking for each class during the day, means that I am opening and closing the case a lot. I haven't encountered any issues thus far. The magnets make a satisfying connection to create a folded stand for two angles in landscape mode, and I can Swype/type my heart out on the flatter angle (stylus or finger) and easily activate touch-controls on the greater angle. I can definitely see why the stand might not hold up to heavy-handed folk (my dad is a pro at accidentally knocking over tablets and collapsing stands), but for me, the stand is just what I need.There is a tiny bit of cracking along the outside edge of the colored pleather-ish part, but that was there from the start and isn't getting worse or affecting the case's performance (just quality of materials, again). I got greasy grime on the colored part while I was cleaning my kitchen, and when it left a stain after initial wipe-off, I despaired at my odds of ever getting the case to look clean again. Much to my surprise, the outside of the case withstood a hardy scrubbing with a damp washcloth, and is back to its pretty light blue self! Whew.Overall: if you're on the fence about this case, I recommend it. It's not perfect and I doubt it will last as long as my tablet does, but it does its job well, and at an affordable price!

I guess it worked because I told all my friends. I bought this and loved it, shipped fast. It was a little hard to open but never thought a lot about the issue. Until someone from the company redesigned it based on that exact feedback, one less magnet, and then reshipped me a new one for free without even asking.Unbelievable that companies like this still exist. WAY to go!!! I hope everyone gets this case and this company does very well in its endeavors. It's the best case for the nexus out of the 3 I have tried. I'm a student and I take it everywhere. Holds up to abuse. Put it in my backpack, my purse, I've dropped it once or twice....still looks great .LOVE IT. Light blue is lovely.

It's a nice case for a Nexus 7 (2013). The fitting is perfect. Applying it and removing it not a hassle. The construction of the plastic feels cheap but it does what it is supposed to do. The case handles all the angles that it folds into very well without ever tipping or falling over.The problem is that after barely 2 months of use, the center metal strip came loose. Now every time I open the case, the strip comes out with the flap. I've contacted the Poetic support. I'll update after they reply back to me.

I purchased the sky blue color for the new 2013 Nexus 7. It fits like a tight glove and works quite well. I like the concept WAY better than the smart cover/hard shell combo I have for my iPad Mini. The fact that there are magnets to hold it shut sold me. The stand functions well and the magnets turn it on and off. Overall, I'm very happy with it and am considering getting another color!Edit: I'm dropping my rating. After two years of using smart covers with my tablets, I've never had an issue with the magnets interfering with anything in my purse. This cover demagnetized my credit card. The card ended up in between the flap and the tablet when it was in my purse. It was like this for at most 10 minutes. Now I can't use my credit card and had to order a new one. I've had another card stuck in between in much the same fashion with my iPad smart cover and never had an issue. My guess is these magnets are stronger and had more effect. So, I'm back to my other case which hasn't posed me any problems. I'm afraid to use this one now. I typically store my cards in my wallet, but when I'm in a hurry I sometimes just toss them in my purse. I will not be buying another Poetic slim case like I was considering.

I got this to protect my 2013 Nexus 7 on a trip through Europe and South Asia. I use it everyday, and it hasn't shown any wear yet. Very slim and doesn't add bulk to the device like some cases. Actually liked mine so much I bought the same case for my mother. Not the best to use as a stand, but as a lightweight, durable, good looking, and cheap case, you can't beat it.

I would recommend this cover to everyone. It works, folds easily to make a stand. Only had it a month, so can't judge wear, but so far so good, and you can't beat the price. The auto wake feature works great. Actually the magnets do a good job holding the case closed and it takes a little bit of effort to open the case and wake the tablet. The case doesn't add much size to the tablet-- my Mom also has the older Nexus, and her case is much larger.

There are three Nexus 7s in our household and all of them has this case. It is slim, robust, fits extremely well and protects the device. Would certainly replace with the same one if something goes wrong!

I was worried how well this would fit and how sturdy it would be but I was pleasantly surprised to find it fits like a glove and the magnets are reassuringly strong. Now if only poetic would do the same for my M7..

Nice case and colour was good. Works as it should & switches on when tablet opened etc. Good quality and great price and worth the wait from overseas. Recommend.

This is a great cover - very thin and yet provides a good protection for the screen. Love the auto close function. The only fault is that this has only lasted 9 months before there is a small split that has appeared on one corner but as I use this MANY times in a day the only option for me was to replace it with another the same.

Returned as could not stand with the weight of the iPad.
