Briggs & Stratton 697124 Breather Reed Replacement Part

Part arrived on time and was what I needed to fix a smoking B&S 163cc mower engine. Works as advertised.

As good as oem

Part is a perfect oem fit. Its just the dumbest design the has ever been created. The old Briggs & Stratton engines had a totally different design of this that was on the side of the motor. They very rarely ever had an issue and were very easy to get too if needed. This stupid paper thin piece of junk is buried under the flywheel below another cover that doesn't even have a gasket. You silicone the cover and bolt it back on. As a small engine mechanic for over 35 years I can honestly say, DO NOT BUY A BRIGGS & STRATTON engine. They went from a quality easy to repair engine to a sorry excuse for scrap metal. Ok rant over. Stupid junk!!!

Doesn't work for me 😔 but seen to fit perfect in my troy bilt push lawnmower

Been having issues with my lawn mower so did a little research on why it was run the way it was ( bad ) I did everything I new about small engines ( it’s been a while since Agg class in high school) so tore down the engine a bit to replace the reed flap while waiting on my delivery of a new one, glad to say after reinstalling a new reed and everything back together it’s back up and running like new.
