Nearly perfect
I bought this for my 11yo who just started playing saxophone this year, probably just a couple of weeks before I purchased this. The strap it came with wasn’t really made for a child, or if it was, maybe it’s meant for a bigger, possibly teenage child.Anyway, within the first use, this thing paid for itself. Getting “hooked up” was much easier for her. Getting the strap on and off and properly adjusted was a breeze for her to do on her own. Her only complaint was the lack of padding, but the original had no pad and I’m not going to spoil her too soon.Once she’s marching and has a legitimate reason for a padded strap, I’ll get her the other version of this that has a pad if she really wants it. I played guitar for over 20 years without a padded strap… and a heavy Les Paul to boot. She’ll survive a few years with the sax and bare strap!

Great Strap
The neck strap I received with my Yamaha YDS-150 Digital Sax was too wide and too stiff so it was cumbersome for me to use. This strap is flexible, light weight and super easy to adjust. I purchased the strap with the locking hook to avoid any accidental drops. I’ve played sax for over 30 years, I wouldn’t be afraid to use this strap on my acoustic alto or tenor. However due to the additional weight of my regular saxophones I prefer a padded neck strap.

High quality, pretty good design, classy look
I'm very happy with this strap. I wanted something sturdy (metal hook) and professional looking and this is it. The curved hook on the bottom does work pretty well as intended however it sometimes gets caught on other parts of the saxophone when I create slack in the strap or shift around (resting the saxophone on my thigh for example while still strapped in). But as long as you just pay attention to it when you put the weight back onto it, it shouldn't be any problem. The only other thing that prevents it from getting a full 5 stars, is that it does VERY slightly loosen itself after a while of playing. All straps sort of do this anyway, but I do have some others that don't get loose at all, so it's a point against it, but still nothing big at all. Every hour I just cinch it up a couple millimeters or so. Hardly a deal breaker.I bought this with the intention of using it mainly for tenor, but it does work for alto as well. So I recommend alto players interested in this strap getting the tenor model so you are covered for both because I think the alto one is definitely too small for tenor.

Excellent Strap - Very Comfortable!
I have used both the padded and unpadded Rico straps for a few years. Because of a cervical fusion, I was always "fighting" the padded straps to find a comfortable position and I find the unpadded, regular nylon strap to be more comfortable. The nylon is wide enough so it doesn't dig into my skin and it simply molds itself around the base of my neck. It is so comfortable, I forget I am even wearing it!I also have this strap in both the open hook and snap hook designs. The open hook is better if you are doubling on another instrument and have to make quick changes; the snap hook is more secure and I like using the snap hook on my cherished Mark VI alto.

Great Strap
It has been a while since I had played until my daughter decided that she had wanted to play Sax. She did not like the stock strap that came with her sax so I invested in a padded one along with this. She opted for the padded strap over this so I got to use this one. Very comfortable for not having padding and the adjustment is a dream. She did try this and really liked the quick-slip adjustment. Needless to say, I now have the padded one and she is loving this one. The price cannot be beat and the strap is definitely wonderful. I will be ordering another as I miss it now. Good job Rico on a comfy, easy going strap.

This is a good basic strap that fits soprano, alto & tenor
Not fancy, but a good value and comfortable for anything smaller than a bari where you probably want some additional padding. I have several and even keep a spare in my car as a backup. The hook is metal and open (no clasp) but has a unique twisted shape and hasn't ever slipped out of the ring. On other straps with open metal hooks I've pinched the hooks tighter with pliers as a precaution, but that's not necessary with this Rico.It is easy to adjust the length and it stays put. I use same strap for soprano, alto and tenor. For around $10 you can't go wrong.

Great strap for the price...
These are pretty cool looking straps, the choices of colors, as well as the round, length controlling piece, resembling the De Jacques $70+ one, are nice features. This is not an ultra-comfortable, supportive strap, but as one who plays various saxes, flute & wind synth, it's comfortable enough. If I had a tenor around my neck all night long, I'd probably get something more padded... The little curlicue hook is good, in that it helps prevent the horn from slipping off, but can be a little tricky moving from horn to horn quickly, if you're a bit nimbly-challenged, as I am. Overall, these straps are well worth their reasonable cost, making it easy to have a few around...

Great strap
Clip is plastic but should hold up fine, this is my first sax so i have no experience. But it is so much better than the strap provided with the sax, looks and comfort.

Amei!
