The photograph is beautiful a very unique book, and the constitution is interesting
It is not the manual which it is the reading which I am very beautiful, and is interesting which can feel having become an owner of Lancaster, and is pure.Ten pages of military service including the story that sank battleship tirpitz is carried.Around 40 pages of explanation of the body structure is carried. The exchange method of brakes is explained with 14 pieces of photographs. It is illustrated by 14 pieces of photographs to the exchange method of the brakes of the tire in detail. The explanation about the engine is explained in the viewpoint that was different from spitfire of the sisters book again. There is the photograph of the spread of the cockpit. The loading method of the bomb is explained by five pieces of color photos and drawings in detail.Because the individual possession is difficult unlike Spitefire, about the method to become the honor that is the characteristic of this book, a strange career of NX611 is written. It is listed about FM213 in Canada, and there is it.There is the explanation column of the running cost.It is explained a tire exchange 1,300 pounds every 150 times of landings when it takes it.There is approximately 30 pages of flying method, and the start method of the engine is explained with 18 pieces of color photos. There is approximately 20 pages of maintenance method, with a lot of color photos, and the check of the leg, a refueling method are explained.

The sound of freedom
Great book on one of the two flying Lancasters in the world. Good detail on what is needed to keep one in flying condition for the BBMF memorial flight.

Truly, a must-have reference.
Superb mix of history, restoration and operator's manual. Delightful reading for the aviator/enthusiast and indispensable for the modeler. Beautifully crafted, worth every penny.

Dad is going to love this for Christmas
I stumbled upon this, purely by accident, when searching for Lancaster Bomber items, as my dad use to be an RAF Engineer during the Second World War. He would always tell us stories about them and his time in the Air Force and what he had to do. He spoke proudly of his involvement, despite wanting to actually be a fighter pilot, but he didn't speak the correct way... don't you know, gafaw ;)I have flicked through the book and know that I will want to read it too. Not only has it got the break down of it's construction and the maintenance they use to do, but there are sections on the history of the aircraft, how to fly it and the duties of those involved, even a section on how much it costs to run and service today. It's full of beautiful photographs, black and white from the period they were flying and colour ones of the restoration process and of it flying or on the ground. There are illustrations of bomb bay configurations, detailed engineering and pictorial sketches. This is a book for any lover of the buy gone age of prop driven war planes and the history that goes with them. Also it's surely a must as a present to anyone who flew in them, built them or carried out the maintenance on them.Well done Haynes, am sure the other ones of the similar ilk are of the same wonderful standard. Thoroughly recommended!

Must for Lancaster fans
I bought this for my Dad's birthday as he is a huge fan of the Lancaster Bomber. Of course when it arrived I couldn't resist having a quick flick through of it and I was very impressed. This isn't a Haynes manual in the traditional sense i.e. for an Austin Metro but does give a great insight into the history of the Lancaster Bomber, featuring some stunning photography too.As soon as my Dad opened his present he was entranced in the book and couldn't put it down. Paid for new, received second hand.
This book was advertised as ‘new’ and priced at £21.99I’m pretty disappointed to receive a second hand book - the wrapping wasn’t the original plastic and some one has written some pricing information (£5 cheaper!) on the inside. Pretty underhand and disappointing all round really.

Bit disapointed with this manual it is more a history of the Lancaster than a service manual. It has been some help identifying some of the parts I have dug up on an old crash site
