Lady Chatterley's Lover

Came in good condition, earlier than anticipated.

I haven't read the book, so I'm not sure how accurate this adaptation is. I have however, seen 2 other film adaptations and this one has much less graphic sex scenes and focused more on the emotional connection between Lady Chatterley & her lover. Heavy on tears, light on chemistry so it was a bit of yawn for me. Seemed like a short movie too, but maybe I'm wrong. This disc does NOT have special features, behind the scenes & whatnot which I was very disappointed with.

Great movie! Explores the characters more. More plot. Excellently filmed.

This is not my favorite version of Lady Chatterley's Lover, but I do enjoy the unique spin this direct used to shorten the events of the book.

Do i need special DVD player? To see the movie

Oh my gawd and you thought the man was hot in Game of Thrones......

While it was beautifully filmed, dressed, and the actors were very good, it wasn't a patch on the 1990s version with Sean Bean and Joely Richardson. That was a three to four-part mini-series, and the story had time to be told and unfold. Here, everything felt very rushed, although they managed to make the point of Connie's incredible loneliness. Oliver's anger at the world is much better explored in the earlier version; here Richard Madden just comes across as being incredibly grumpy, and you can't really understand what Connie sees in him beyond some fun with a bit of rough.

I thought in view of the actors involved this would be a no-brainer as entertainment and storyline however did not match up to the earlier version with Sean Bean so do yourself a favour and read the book instead.

I can only say that if you have read D. H. Lawrence's novel or seen another version of LCL, this farce of a film will leave you frustrated and disappointed. All the nuance , social commentary, depth, and sensuality of the book are gone, leaving only a husk of a movie. Adding to that, the chemistry between Lady C and Mellors is non-existent. Other than the fact that the four main characters - Clifford, Connie, Mellors, and the woman who cares for Clifford - are still there, everything else has been shuffled around, twisted, with whole new plotlines created out of thin air, and otherwise b*sterdized. I'm sorry I paid for this mess; it's going into the recycling bin. So save your money, buy the book instead.
