Perhaps Chord would like to lend me some of their top end cables ...
I am not someone that writes many reviews but this product resulted in such an improvement I felt compelled to share my thoughts. My hifi equipment is of reasonable quality with a sugden masterclass cd player, audio research reference 5se pre-amp/ reference 75 se power amp into martin logan summit speaker's. I also use a little dot III headphone amplifier feeding beyerdynamic dt1770 pro headphones. Musical taste is mainly classical. I recided to change the rca lead from the preamp to the headphone amp which although not budget it is a number of years old. WOW!! The first few bars of Rachmaninov's first symphony with the Russian national orchestra/ Mikhail Pletnev lifted a huge veil from the sound with a clearer top end (strings, triangles and cymbals could be heard as they should); while at the same time there was more weight and authority to the overall sound. Instrument placement was also much more precise. No. These cables are not cheap but they raise the quality of what reaches your ears far more cheaply than trying to upgrade your hardware. Equally I could have spent many times more on one of the more expensive Chord cables but the law of diminishing returns and how much either improvement I might hear has yet to be proved. Perhaps Chord would like to lend me some of their top end cables so I can check this out!! Meanwhile this is an upgrade over cheaper cables well worth the investment.

Great but expensive
Brilliant cables though seriously pricey. I agree that Chord cables separate the musical elements of the music you listen to but it does depend on the quality of the music formats played. Buy at the best price & you'll feel better about it!

Great improvement over cables of the same if not higher price. Highly recommended.
I used these cables to replace similar priced ones from Atlas. The Clearaway is far better than the Atlas cables and do exactly what they say. They clear away a level of veiling that opens up the music and gives more detail, dynamics and greater neutrality to the sound. Highly recommended for decent hi-fi components Pros Well-made high quality cables. Sound Quality. They replaced cables from my FM tuner and £3,000 turntable to my £15,000 amp and speaker set up. In both cases I noticed a more open and balanced sound-stage with more subtle details. Bass lines were tighter and mid to high range a little sweeter, There was a little more naturalness to all instrumentation and vocals. The improvement for the price was extremely impressive. No burn-in time. They sounded great straight out of the packet Cons On the FM tuner I noticed a slight emphasis in background hiss and sibilance. This was only slight and was far outweighed by the audible improvements. The significant but subtle improvements will only be heard on system with components costing many hundreds of pounds.

Yes, it does work...
I've always thought that as long as you use any decent quality cables, you would be fine just the same. They are all insulated copper after all, but there seems to be more variables than I thought. Comparing to a half-decent QED Qunex this connector replaces, the sound signature alters quite remarkably. Side by side the QED is punchy and brash - the Chord sounds much cleaner, neutral with no colourations and music is presented more spaciously. It sounds quieter because of that. Even my rather uninterested girlfriend noticed the difference and to me that's really telling. The tidiness and lack of bias is especially appreciated in symphonic works with a lot going on on stage, but all music benefits from better resolution and detail. I'm so surprised and impressed, that I've ordered cable replacements from Chord and took time to write this review. All in all, I'm glad to have been proven wrong and that I've upgraded my system's sound signature significantly and, comparing to other components, rather cheaply. To me it was worth it, but if you like your music with boomy bass and punch, then probably you won't need this connector. If you like your music well defined and neutral, then treat yourself. To summarise - when the first transatlantic telegraph cable was laid it quickly turned out unusable. The interference was so great they couldn't decipher any messages and had to replace it... So yes, cables matter.

£10 XLR cable is better
I don't know why this cable sounds so bad. I'd hoped it would be the last interconnect cable I bought. I expected it to be superb. Recently I tried an £10 XLR cable and it sounds better than this cable. I bought the 1m length of this Chord interconnect.

Great Quality AVR Interconnect
Replaced some older Chord Cobra VEE 3 for 5 channel interconnects between a Denon AVR-X7200WA and Marantz MM7055 which had a distinct hum due to the floating earth design. Was concerned that the hum would be there but absolutely no trace, so well worth the change. Bit on the pricey side, especially considering I needed 3 sets, but cant fault the quality.

Not a bad cable
Reasonably open sounding cable but I found it flattened the music slightly. If you like the way this cable alters the sound of your system (as most cables do) then great. If you want to hear your system as un- altered as possible, then buy the Blue Jeans LC1 for half the cost and be done with it.

Opens up the sound stage width and depth
I tried the Chord Clearway against the Chord C-Line, the former being nearly 2.5x more expensive. I was hoping not to hear any difference and save a lot of money, unfortunately the difference in sound quality between the two was very apparent. When I swapped from the C-Line to the Clearway the sound stage got wider and deeper. There was more air around the instruments and better separation. The acoustics of environment surrounding the instruments were more apparent on classical guitar and orchestra. The tiny bit of flab from the bass disappeared and became tighter (this is very subtle but makes a big difference). Drums hit harder and cleaner, e.g. when listening to The Doors - "Riders on the Storm". I swapped between the two quite a few times but felt enjoyment and engagement with the music was lost every time I put in the C-Line. The best way I can describe the Clearway is that the music was just there to be listened to and enjoyed. The Clearway RCA cable was used to connect between an Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition music streamer/DAC and a NAIM NAC 282 preamp phono sockets.

Excellent RCA cables
Cables were a nice upgrade right out of the box and sound even better now after approximately fifty hours of break in time.
