FINALLY a workout routine I can live with!
I am somebody who has always wanted to work out and likes the feeling I get from the rewards a daily workout brings, including having more energy and feeling stronger and more fit. But the problem is, with my incredibly busy schedule and tendency to get bored very easily it has been really difficult to find a program that I could live with. I have tried MANY different things from gym memberships (finding time to go was a hassle, and I HATED changing in the locker room), to excersize equipment in my living room (repetitive and boring), to other fitness games including Wii Fit, My Fitness Coach, and EA Sports Active for the Wii (did not like the Wii controls one bit and gave up). But with Your Shape, I actually ENJOY working out for the first time in my life. The personal training routines are as pleasant as I've ever experienced in excersize and the gym games and fitness classes are downright fun. I also have a knee condition that makes it hard to do certain excersizes (I had problems with EA Sports Active) but I'm not having any problems playing Your Shape. There is a ton of variety of different training regimines to choose from, in addition to fun gym games and classes so it never gets boring. I usually do a training session followed by a class, game, or both. There are workouts here for any fitness level so this game really is for everybody. You can add hand weights for an even harder workout if you want. I definitely find myself out of breath and my heart rate pumping doing these workouts. The Kinect detection isn't flawless with this game but it's very, very good. Sometimes it doesn't recognize when I'm doing a move correctly but it's not a big deal. The game gives me credit for the calories burned and I still benefit from the excersize, whether I'm doing it "perfectly" or being detected perfectly or not. Speaking of calories, this game tracks the calories burned so you can get a real sense of accomplishment, and keep track if you are making a log of calories consumed and burned. I should mention you do need the full minimum of 6ft space in front of the Kinect to play this game. Not only is this the best fitness game out there (and I've tried several) it is really the only excersize regimine I've done that fits with my life. It is extremely convenient and fun which encourages sticking to it, unlike other routines. Goodbye inconvenient gyms, boring home treadmills, excersize games that don't work well, and goodbye to not getting the excersize I want and need. Finally, I can have it conveniently and fun.

Fun, accurate, and challenging
Your Shape is my favorite of the three XBox exercise games that I own. There is lots of variety, a good level of intensity (I've always exercised regularly and am in pretty good shape, and I get a great work-out from this game), and I love the tracking where you see your entire body on the screen right next to the trainer, so you can really evaluate how well you are doing. Your Shape has the most specific feedback on how to improve your performance on the exercises- I actually find the trainer comments to be very helpful, not annoying as they often are in the other programs, and I can use them to quickly improve how I am doing each exercise. It really is like having your own personal trainer. The trainer sets a good pace for the work-out and is easy to stay in rhythm with. I find these trainers to be the easiest to follow along with of the three exercise games I have (Your Shape, EA Sports Active, and UFC Personal Trainer). I also find this to be the most accurate in sensing my movements correctly, with no problems whatsoever in a a fairlay small work-out space (about seven or eight feet from the sensore to the wall). I like how the game keeps track of my progress, and has lots of choices for each work-out- even in personal trainer mode, you can choose to do your pre-set workout, or you can pick something different each time. I especially enjoy the Michelle Bridges workout programs. Other personal trainer choices include cardio, toning, and programs by other fitness experts. You can also play gym games or do yoga, cardio boxing, and other activities. The personal trainer programs I have tried don't have the level of warm-up and cool-down that the other Kinect exercise programs do, so you need to do that part on your own, but I prefer it this way because you can do however many sessions you want in a row and keep your heart-rate up the whole time without having to skip through the warm-up and cool-down. I also find that even with programs that have warm-up and cool-down, there is still not nearly enough stretching so you have to do your own anyway. Overall, I strongly recommend this program for great work-outs and lots of choices. I rate this one first, EA second, and UFC third, for people like me who have a fairly small work-out area, are in moderately good shape, and like variety.

Fun to sweat, but not all exciting
It requires a little bit of a learning curve to get the hang of this Xbox application. I wouldn't call it a "game" nor should it be classified as one. It has some very good exercise routines and keeps track of how you've done. It takes a blow to your ego by telling you that you have the body of someone much older than you really are, but once you "forgive" it for that hard knock, then you can work at getting your heart rate up. The aged person they used for a standard must have been Jane Fonda during her "work out" aerobic years! (that's a compliment by the way.)I'm trying to change the music to something with a bit more rhythm, but haven't found out how o do that. Maybe its in the more experienced, iron-man body levels?!Having fun with it, is as fun as it can be by sweating in your living room!

I was working out with this one and the exercises are not bad, but you have to do the introduction all ...
bought this one as well as the Your Shape 2012 Edition.I was working out with this one and the exercises are not bad, but you have to do the introduction all the time. you want to go to a different exercise you cant just go back, turn it back on and you have to do the complete intro again, its asking for your age and what you want.As for the 2012, you have a go back button, the hand signaling is way better, work out way better. love the 2012. I recommend to buy the 2012.
