Best IN Class
I returned these but gave them 5 stars BECAUSE they appear well made and are the best available AT THAT PRICE RANGE.I returned them because I wanted more range(in town you're looking at a little over 1/2 mile), I then got the retevis rb48 which gets about 1 1/4 miles in town.I plan on using while kayaking and I figure in open water you could get 1 1/2 to 3 miles with the h777,while the rb48 probably can get around 3 1/2 to 4 miles on open water,Both seem well made, but if you can fit it into your budget, get the rb 48.Also,although I didn't test standby time on the h777,on the rb48 you're looking at a good two days(48 hour),the battery is a little smaller on the h777, however it has no display screen to keep lit, so I figure standby time time is similar. After careful research, these are about the best buys around for a frs or a gmrs radio=to get more range then the rb48(2 watt), you have to go ham

Great radio range , need to be carful with the antena a back clip it’s better if you order the earpiece to not been using it that much cus they will break , for the price can’t complain just be careful if your are going to be having them in side a warehouse type situation.

Good range for the price
I work in my garage, which is about 100 yards from my house. I bought these so the wife can keep in touch from the house and let me know when dinner is ready. The Retevis H-777 Walkie-Talkies are perfect for the job!Voice communication is crystal clear at 100 yards. I even drove around with one to test the distance. I would guess I got close to 1/4 mile up the road before communication gave out.We don't talk back and forth a whole lot, so the battery easily lasts for a couple days before charging is needed. For $20, you really can't beat these radios.

Awful
There’s a lot of traffic on this walkie-talkies day and night it does not doesn’t matter what channel you choose. The other downside is when the battery is low it keeps yelling at you to “please check your battery”.Even when you plug it in it in or put it on the charger (as it allows both) it will continue to yell at you.You must turn it off for a couple hours while it charges otherwise it just continues yelling at you.AWFUL programming !
