Book 5 keep the story of the Dragons going with new insights into their history and transformation. I’m looking forward to Book 6 and keeping my fingers crossed that David and Zanna come together again!

Dark Fire is a suspenseful, fascinating, wonderful book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I really like this series because it is intriguing and especially because it is about dragons, and I absolutely positively love love love loooooove dragons. If you also like dragons, you should totally read the Wings of Fire series! It is by Tui T. Sutherland, who is also part of the Erin Hunter team!!! (Warriors, Seekers, Survivors, etc.) But this is a really great book and I would recommend it to anyone who loves dragons as much as I do (although that's not humanly possible) so, if you are an avid reader and you love dragons, read this book!!! *Spoilers may be contained within, proceed with caution those who haven't read yet*Whenever I read a new book in "The Last Dragon Chronicles," I feel a bit conflicted. On the one hand they pretty much always turn out quite well, on the other hand with each new addition to the series the plot gets more convoluted each time and I wonder how the author will bring it to a respectable end. As for the book itself, I can't help but feel that the protagonist (David) went from a boy who was dragged into something he didn't understand but wanted to and was working to, into a know-it all holier than thou messiah like figure who; while the author tries to portray him as a teacher figure of sorts and an understanding person, comes off more as a pretentious unfeeling jerk. And a character attribute switch like that is so night and day it's like they're a different person altogether, and makes it a bit of a poor choice on his end I believe. Also, it's a bit of a stretch to say that people would be THAT accepting of dragons just emerging out of nowhere like they do by books end, there should be more skepticism than that, even for a fantasy novel. And the fain/ix plot points could do with a bit of straightening out as well. Perhaps a separate book delving into their backstory would be in order? Still, I must say that while it's a bit poor in some areas, I still overall enjoyed the book.All in all however, this book is a bit weaker than previous installments, although still a good read. I'd definitely suggest starting with the first book and working your way up though, as anyone who decides to start here or with the Fire Eternal will be hopelessly lost. Here's hoping that Mr. D'lacey can bring the series to a respectably well end, and that it doesn't fizzle out with the last book or two.

The Week before I got Dark fire as an Ebook, I got the last of Chris D'Laceys "Last Dragon Chronicles " books, The Fire ascending . As I had only read books 1 though to 4 I got EXTREMELY Confused . But, after one quick ,two day long,read of his ( Mr D'Laceys ) novel "Dark fire", that quickly all cleared up.(And it took me only ,like, a MINUTE!) And ,if you are reading this ,reI recommend that you give this FANTASTIC Novel a VERY though and thura reading .And ,if you still aren't convinced , tell me who , what and WHERE, these things are:👽👵👹👿😇👧👼🐉🐲 G and 🐣.

I got the books in this series for my daughter who is crazy about dragons. I started to scan the first book in the series to ensure it was appropriate for my daughter. (Her reading level is well above her age so it is sometimes difficult to find books that are challenging for her and yet still age appropriate.) I found myself drawn into the storyline and the next thing I knew it was several hours later and I'd just about finished the book. The daughter and I have since read all the books in the series and highly recommend it. The author presents a very imaginative storyline.
