6ft 5 inch tall. 36 inch waist would an XL be too short and tight ?

I’m 6,2 and just manage to get into the largest size. That said I recently gave a glowing review on the quality, which was premature because I have since found the stitching under the crotch is susceptible to come undone. I have not returned them yet as I want to be sure I’m right about the quality.
