Application of Tui-Na In Veterinary Medicine, 2nd Edition
Review:This book on Tui-na for animals is the only one in it's kind as far as I know of. This is surprising enough in itself as Chinese therapies like acupuncture and herbal remedies are directed towards human and non-human animals alike. The book was published by the Chi Institute and directed towards veterinarians. This implies that a certain level of knowledge of TCM is needed to fully appreciate the given information. Having said that, I believe any TCM student with an understanding of meridians & acupoints and interested in the topic of Tui-na (or acupressure) for animals will find valuable information in this book to help him/her forward. The book counts 205 glossy pages, including references, and is divided into 8 chapters, guiding you from the introduction of Tui-na through the basic manipulation systems, and basic musculature, neurological and internal conditions. The nice thing is that, contrary to its human focussed books that omit animals, this book does include Tui-na treatments for humans. Each manipulation technique is illustrated with photographs, diagrams and drawings (for the human application) and include helpful keypoints for the practitioner, clinical applications, what the specific technique actually does and at the end of each chapter a list of possible combination techniques or contraindications.Certainly not a book to read in a weekend as it's far too comprehensive for that and not a substitute for hands-on learning of Tui-na but a book I feel fortunate to have in my collection and confident will teach me a lot in the years to come.

Has techniques for animals and humans
Received in timely manner. After a brief review of the book, i expected more. It has human and animal techniques, but expected more on animals since it's a Veterinary Text.I've studied many energy and massage techniques for humans which with familiarity of animal anatomy could be used on animals. I'd still consider this a worthwhile buy.

It is a textbook
This is a textbook, and reads like one. Do not expect to learn everything about Tui-Na from this book, because it expects that you are already in the veterinarian field. That said, if you have veterinary knowledge this book is a good overview of Tui-Na for animals. Especially since it's the only one I've found specifically for animals.
