I got this to replace the one that is currently installed on my trailer tongue….difference is; that it’s old & crusty….has been spliced into numerous times…& it’s been cut & extended to reach the vehicle.I believe this product will make install much easier along with making sure i get the performance needed to the correct areas on the trailer.Appears to be of really good thick plastic for the junction box & the 7 flat pin is non serviceable-which in my opinion is great!Keeps from tampering & making things worse-haha! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Needs instructions in the packaging, not on the ad. *by C***T on June 25, 2021* I used this product to replace my four wire boat trailer plug with a seven way plug so that I wouldn't need an adapter for my vehicles.The new seven wire plug was wired for traditional RV and NOT standard trailer.Instructions are not in the package! The wiring diagram is in this ad, so do yourself a favor and print them or screenshot them for ready reference when installing because I hooked up yellow to yellow (LH turn/brake), brown to brown (running lights), green to green (RH turn/brakes) and white to white (ground). When I plugged the new plug into my vehicle, one light came on. I quickly realized something was wrong.I grabbed a multimeter and used the Ohm function to figure out how the pins were wired and what color they used to wire their plug. I had three of the four wires I used connected to the wrong colors. Using my Ohm meter I was finally able to determine where the correct wires go. There were no instructions on the package. I recently needed a new cable for my utility trailer and didn't hesitate to reorder.One pro tip: The color coding is incorrect and you'll have to figure out what color your trailer wires are and figure out what color the harness wires are. I found writing that out on paper takes the confusion out of it and makes it easy to wire up.
