GP380 - Selected Works for Piano - Debussy

I have most of the book in this series edited by Keith Snell. They are a fantastic resource, with well chosen repertoire and good editing. They are extremely reasonable in price for the quality.

This is a near-perfect collection of French Composer Claude Debussy's most famous and beautiful works. I've been playing piano since the early 90s [though most of all those years, I only played when compelled by my stepdad because I wasn't self-motivated to play until the last couple years], so I *should* be advanced but I'm definitely more of an intermediate player. I recently fell in love with Debussy's gorgeous, expressive, impressionistic, historically original works; I looked far and wide to find a collection with all the pieces I REALLY most wanted--Arabesque 1Claire de luneSunken CathedralReverie--and this definitely seems like the best one. I also like how there is a definite range of difficulties [starting at mid-intermediate--it is Debussy, after all], from simpler, more sparse little curiosities from his Children's Collection, and then his more musically advanced and ambitious work, some of them significantly harder than others.In the end, Debussy is amazing, this is a nice, well-produced, easy-to-read collection with a terrific selection of pieces and a lovely format. The Debussy book arrived the day before my piano lesson, several days earlier than expected, making it possible to start learning the music immediately. The music printed clearly on good quality paper and nicely bound so pages are easy to turn. I’ll enjoy this book for long time.

What can I say about Debussy that hasn't already been said? Check these pieces out on Youtube if you haven't ever heard them, and then learn a few to enhance and bring peace to your life. Contains our favorites by him.

The print is great - lots of space. The selections are nice with 2 Arabesques, some children's works and Preludes.

I received a Mozart piano book and no Debussy at all. Pretty pretty lame.I was left very dissatisfied. -

This book is great. Everything is based on the Durand editions which are generally the best for Debussy. The selection of works is great for the intermediate to advanced piano student and everything is printed on nice high quality paper. I have a few other Debussy books, but this is the one I find myself grabbing most often when I just want to play something nice for some guests.
