Hayward SP0410X602S Slide Valve for Hayward Sand Filter

Solid construction. Works extremely well. Switched from standard top mounted multi port valve with old sand filter to this side mounted valve with a new sand filter. Easier to use although this valve does not allow you to rinse after back washing. Not certain how I feel about that but the filter seems to function well without rinsing. I am not certain why but having the stem pulled up for filtering and pushed down for backwahing seems counterintuitive. I would strongly suggest connecting unions directly to the valve instead of the pipe. That way if you make a mistake glueing or need to change piping later you can disconnect the unions and free the valve.

Installed new valve on filter and it was a perfect fit. The price was very competative

Doesn’t leak. Should be easier to mount without some repiping. Plunger unit is still feeble but if you run a 6d finish nail through the linking holes then it’s useable for many years. Does the job I suppose.

Good solid product & no issues. I purchased from an online pool company same product, which I had to return. I had to pay to ship it back AND they charged me a restocking fee. Just should have gotten it here first!
