Wonderful book with a simple message
I got this book out of the library and liked it so much I bought a copy. It’s perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. The illustrations are cute and easily recognizable and the message is simple and ageless.

Can't say enough good things about this book!
I read this marvelous book to my 2 year old grandson via Facetime, and he loves it! He wants me to read it over and over again, and chimes in at the "I can help!" parts. Perfect for little ones who are just starting to follow storylines. Can't say enough good things about this book!

My grandson asks for this over and over
The story is told in simple words and short sentences that my beloved toddler memorized pretty quickly, though he likes to call the picture book "The Uh Oh Book" as there is a fascinating uh-oh on every other page -- resolved quickly by friendly helpers. The duck wandering off is adorable, and with help finds a way back home. Perfect at bedtime, or anytime.

A Joy for Parent and Child
I ADORE this book and so does my 22 month old. Wonderful message that everyone needs help sometimes, and everyone can give help sometimes - a beautiful introduction to the idea of true community. The illustrations are appealing and the words perfectly simple. By the third reading my daughter was already anticipating the words and chiming in. I'll happily read it as many times as she likes.

Similar to "Good Night Gorilla" = Parent Involvement
We checked this out of the library and my toddler couldn't get enough of it. We purchased it online for a bargain $5 or so. I would pay much more for it. Pages are thin so make sure your toddler is pass or about to pass the board-thick-pages stage. The story is quite simple which means it's easier for toddlers to follow and it requires parental involvement to point out feelings or items in the picture similar to Good Night Gorilla. Most of all, I love that it shows animals helping each other!

A classroom favorite
As a teacher of 22 years, it is difficult to find books that respect children's intelligence and validate their desire for helping others and experiencing the joy and risk involved without being overly condescending. This little book suggests a powerful message while respecting children and their ability to interpret the message without being hit over the head with it. It validates the feelings of vulnerability, acceptance of help, and the joy of giving and receiving it without being preachy. It is a favorite in my preschool classroom and the children enjoy reading it over and over to one another. The story unfolds with each character passing on the gift of gratitude. The duck is the first character to help another until he realizes he has become lost. The cycle of giving comes full circle when he is helped by the very ones he reached out to. A fun discovery for the reader and inspiring message for children to construct for themselves.

Cute book... short and sweet
I had borrowed this book from the library ironically by my 18 month old took it off the shelf. Well she loved it so much I had to buy it! She’s saying some words but not all and loves to chime in with some of them! Very cute book!

Fabulous Book!
Our 3 and 4 year old boys absolutely fell in love with this book!! They both can read it from start to finish after just a few days! I quite often find them "helping" one another and will pretend play "i can help" This is an absolute must have book for anyone with young kids! What a fabulous message displayed throughout this book!

Un cuento con valores
Yo puedo ayudarte. Un cuento que enseña muchos valores. Aunque ahora parece que me gusta más a mí que a mi hija. Al principio me pedía mucho que se lo leyera, ahora parece que se ha cansado un poco.
