David: 90 Days with A Heart Like His (Personal Reflections Series)

I just bought this devotional about a month ago and am thoroughly enjoying it. The book itself is beautifully made and I think anyone would feel special receiving this as a gift.It is a rather large book (in terms of dimensions), however the daily readings are not overwhelming at all. You read one passage of scripture and are asked two simple thought provoking questions. Beth then gives a one-to-two page devotional related to the passage and questions. It probably does not take more than 15 minutes to finish a daily devotional. But I find myself spending a bit longer just meditating on the message. I usually say to myself, "Wow, I've never seen that before," or "Thank you Lord for giving me new insight."If you are new to Bible reading and are not familiar with the story of King David, I would recommend reading 1 and 2 Samuel before beginning this devotional because Beth just dives right in.I highly recommed this devotional.

Each day there are about 2-3 pages of commentary and instruction from Beth Moore followed by 2 or 3 questions to consider and a space with a suggested prayer starter.I purchased this book as part of an infomal bible study gathering with a few other ladies. We aimed to complete 6 days each week and compaired our impressions with each other once a week.I highly recommend this book even if you don't have a group to share with. Just be sure to take the time to consider the questions and write out your answers and prayers.

Great bible study! Had bought it for myself years ago in book store and gave away ! It was such a great journey and learning experience with the Lord, I had to replace the one I had given away so I could go through the study again now that I am in a different season of life. .LOVE Beth Moore studies.

I first used this book when I went through a very difficult divorce. I felt like every single moment spoke to me. My mother stayed with me on Tuesdays and she would do the study with me, and she felt that every moment spoke to her. I am getting chills right now just thinking about it. I bought three more of these books, one for my mom, my sister, and my sister's "mother-in-law." I always turn to this book and David when I think I have done something that I just cannot be forgiven for. David was a hot mess. I am a hot mess. Beth helps you see that while he made mistakes, David was a man after God's own heart. Beautiful book, and I love that you can write in this like a journal.

I have absolutely loved this book! The book is beautiful in appearance, with David on the front, a convenient burgundy satin ribbon bookmark built in, and parchment pages, perfectly suit the wonderful content of this Bible study. It has been a great tool to use in my quiet time each morning. Each day's study is not too long, but just enough to ponder God's thoughts to me from His word and the life of David. There is also a scripture to pray each day, and room to journal. A great gift book too!

I have the actual workbook that goes with her DVD series of the same title. I am enjoying this daily dose of study, reflection, and yes David......as a compliment (and complement!) To the video study and workbook study. Beth Moore's video series are very good, but I have used this devotional study more than the workbook and enjoying it thoroughly. Thank you. I would recommend it even if you already have the workbook.

I really enjoyed this bible study. I love how Beth really dives in to the Old Testament. I was a little disappointed there weren't more connections to the New Testament. There were some, but a lot of them were just the scriptures in the prayer section. There were a few parts where I felt like she was stretching to make a point just a little bit, and 90 days is a long study. All in all, however, I really learned a lot about David's life that I can also see much of it mirrored in my own. Some good, some definitely not. I was challenged by this and will continue to look over my notes to see what action I've taken on what I've learned. A great bible study for any woman.

I'm not good at sticking to binle studies and the same happened with this one, BUT I know I'll get back into it and eventually complete the book. Each day has enough scripture, reflection and questions to answer to get you thinking but at the same time can be done in less than twenty minutes. I really enjoyed this when I was using it and I am looking forward to getting back to it when I have time.
