T is for Touchdown: A Football Alphabet (Sports Alphabet)

My great-grandson loved a copy of this book but it belonged to his brother so I got him a copy of his own. He carries it everywhere he goes because he loves football and he isn’t even 2 years old.

As a fan of football I wanted to get this for my kids to read and learn about the game. It has a bunch of great references to facts about football players and history and has been a go to for bed time. I also like how the artwork is drawings not photos. The drawings tend to be action based and I find this helps the kids to understand that there is something going on and this brings out their imagination, did they score a touchdown? was the kick good?

These series of books I think do such a good job of encompassing many ages. It has the simple alphabet for the younger reader,however; it also has factual information for the much older child in which he learns the actual history of the sport as well as information about the sport. The pictures are always well done in this series. This can be enjoyed by many ages from 1st graders to 5th graders.

This book series is wonderful. The poems are great and the detailed information about each sports' rules, history, highlights are interesting for kids and adults. Helps put each sport in context as the child is learning to play.

My 3 year old son who loves any sport that involves a ball really enjoys this book. He has learned all the upper case and lower case letters while reading about something he loves!

Wonderful learning book for young children with introduction into sports. Fabulous illustrations. I highly recommend the other books written by Brad Herzog.

Little lengthy for kindergarten attention span but had useful information when used a few pages at a time. If you want a full preview, there is a video of it being read on You Tube.
