This mat is laying over my wood floors and serves as flooring for my mini indoor workout room. I wanted a relatively thin mat that gave me the most cushion with the least give for my handstand and cartwheel work. When it came and I saw how thin it was, I had my doubts, but it is perfect for my needs. I also had my doubts about the sort of shiny top side of the mat, yet that functions quite well to keep dirt removable and from tears easily happening. It's neither slick nor sticky at least for how I use it. It is also soft enough for me to do my floor ab exercises on it, though I do have a small very padded foldable mat when I need a very soft surface, like for face plants on my failed crow pose attempts last night. It is also perfect for my kettlebell workouts and parallette bars; it stays very flat and doesn't move. I am finding that most if not all the claims made in the product description to be true. It did smell in the room for quite awhile, but I was so pleased with it, it didn't bother me, lol. It came in a long bag that will be very useful if and when I ever move it. I looked over many of the mats on amazon and I think I made the perfect choice for my needs. A plus is that the price was reasonable and competitive with regards to similiar mats. If you compare the weight of this mat to the weight of other mats the same size, it will give a sense for its density; that's the factor that I honed in on as I was deciding.

There are a few mats like this on the market, but I chose it because of the price and because I felt it would fit my needs. I exercise a lot and I have been very pleased with this mat. It has some "give" but not too much. Great for core work, cardio and warm ups. I would order it again.

Seems like it will last a long time. Good grip too for your feet or shoes

very durable with good cushioning, but hard to pivot when doing high intensity arobics or kick boxing, but good for strength training and floor work.

I am extremely pleased and very thankful to have made this purchase. Actually, two purchases of 8‘ x 5‘ fantastic “gym floor mats.” Make no mistake, you will NOT find better. I am not a paid writer of this review; I am a very satisfied - extremely satisfied - Customer writing this review. I already had similar size rugs in my garage/gym. I placed my two new mats on top and man, I am in “hog heaven baby.” My 60-year-old knees thank me. And let me offer many thanks to the seller. These are good people. My husband and I bought this mat for our exercise room. It’s much softer than I would have thought, we are able to lay on it and not need a yoga mat for comfort while doing abs or lifting. The only thing is if you use sliders they will not slide on the mat.
