Perfect fit for my old bilge pump housing
I was really surprised that I could find a perfect replacement part for a 21 year old bilge pump housing but this definitely was an easy plug and play fit and swap for the old one. The old one was the same company (before a name change) and I'll be grateful if this new one lasts anywhere near as long.

Not Worth The Extra Money Same Flow Rate As 500GPH Cartridge
I needed to replace the cartridge in my Johnson bilge pump. I have had very good luck with these cartridges over the years. They are much easier to change out than an entire bilge pump assembly if you have a failure. The only reason this one failed was because of non-use .My shaft froze .If you keep the shaft lubricated with silicone and turn it on every now and then, they, will last a long time. I looked on Amazon I saw that there was two Replacements available, one was 500 gallon per hour which is what my original pump is and the other is a 750 GPH. I wondered how one cartridge could pump 50% more than the other cartridge being they were both the same size. Could be larger magnets or more winding? So I ordered both the 500 GPH and the 750 GPH pump cartridge. Out of curiosity, I decided to test the two pump cartridges. I put the plug in my boat and filled it full of water. Well not actually full, but enough to cover the pump with a few inches of water. I put the 500 GPH cartridge in the boat and timed how long it would take to fill a 5-gallon bucket. It has to a pump to about a two-foot head. It took the 500 GPH pump 1 minute 10 seconds to fill the 5 gallon bucket. Not close to the 500 GPH flow rate that is advertised. I then installed the 750 GPH pump cartridge and timed how long it would take to fill the five gallon bucket. I maintained the same level of water in the boat by adding water as it was being pumped out so the pressure would remain the same. The 750 GPM pump took 1 minute 10 seconds to fill the 5 gal bucket. So they both have the exact same flow rate pumping at a two-foot head. I had a hard time believing that a pump that was the same size as the 500 GPH pump could pump 50% more water. I was right it cannot. When I took the pumps out of their package I could feel a slight difference in weight, so I decided to weigh the two pumps, there is a slight difference in the weight of the two pumps, the 500 GPH weighs 6.9 Oz, the 750 GPH weighs 8 oz. So there is a 1.1 Oz difference between the two pumps. It could be more windings or a heavier magnet, I don't know, but it is not enough to make a difference.I will continue using the 500 GPH cartridge,I have been happy with them. I see no reason to spend the extra money on the 750 GPH cartridge when it has the exact same flow rate as the 500 GPH cartridge. If this helped you,let me know by clicking the helpful.

Super easy change out.
These are so easy to swap. I always carry a spare in the boat Incase one fails. Be mindful of O-ring they are an odd size and if damaged can be difficult to find a replacement.

Back in business
I thought I had an electrical problem but it turned out that it was just a bad pump motor. This new motor even came with heat shrink butt connectors! As soon as I installed it it was so quiet I wasn't sure it was working but indeed it was. Couldn't be happier!

Easy replacement
Replaced old one like this. Fact that simply snaps into old existing housing is great. Make sure to wire in 5 amp fuse. Old one overheated when fine gravel got into housing and impeded the impeller.
