Smart Upgrade
Nice balance of light intensity. Bright enough to see in the dark but not so bright it shines back and illuminates the shooter. Very usable blue light. Front sight brighter, round. Rear sights slightly less bright and easily distinguishable by shape and intensity from the front sight. Good design. My 870, manufactured in 1979, had a rifle sight (from a rifle not a shotgun) rear sight base, with dovetail. A mistake from the factory. I managed to get a correct base from Amazon which properly mated the Meprolight rear sight to my shotgun. Meprolight made their rear sight correctly. You may have a dovetailed base like I did. Don't blame Meprolight and don't pay a gunsmith to fix it. Get the right base. Much cheaper. Makes the shotgun correct, and looks good. The front sight took some work to slide into the dovetail. I had a little triangular file and took off a tiny amount of metal, and then the sight slid in with a drift and hammer. Very nice. Looks original. Works at night.

Awesome!
Was a perfect fit on my remington 870. Threaded right in, was slightly crooked so filed the bottom lightly with a jewelers file and then put it on with a dab of blue loctite. Absolutely awesome sight. Easy to see during the daytime and easy to see in the pitch dark! I was very impressed for the price to get a quality name brand tritium sight! Highly recommend

Great front sight upgrade for your shotgun
You'll need to have the right drill/tap to mount this sight, it is a worth while pursuit. Easy to see in daylight with the fiber optic and all lit up in the darkness. Great price on an excellent sight. I used epoxy on the bottom of the base and threads and filed off the tiny bit of thread that came through the barrel. A swipe of cold bluing and it was perfect. It was installed on a Remington 870 16ga and well worth the small amount of effort expended. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

An improvement over a simple bead sight, but not dramatically so.
This is better than a simple bead sight, but, after installing, I found that this sight is much dimmer than the Trijicon sights I have installed on other guns.Still, for those on a budget, it will be an improvement over regular sights.

Perfect fit for Versa Max
Item as described. Installed on my Versa Max without any modifications. Just unscrew the old and screw on the new. That easy. Seems to be a tight fit when screwed in. The bead is night sighted on both sides. Tube runs through to each side. In the daytime outside, light shines through around the tritium tube as seen in my attached picture. The brightness could be a bit brighter but not bad. My factory sig night sights seem to be brighter but that could be a sight to eye distance issue. Definitely not as bright green as you see the provided picture. See my other attached picture (sig p226 factory night sights marked MH3 on the left and the Mepro shotgun sight on the right). This shotgun sight is also marked with MH3. So I'm sure both of these sights are made from Mepro. Height of the green night dot/white day dot is same height as the Hi-viz sight. Not a bad product.

Got this for night hunting coyote and other predators...my aim point gets a glare in the glass if the moon is behind you plus I'm a both eyes open kind of person and used to irons from growing up and this is perfect nothing in the way, visible during the day and a very confined but bright dot at night just make sure you wait till night to see which side is supposed to face you cause if u try to guess both sides glow and look similar, directions don't tell you much but one side looks better than the other if u look close. Once situated I painted the end of a q tip with black plastidip I had left over and covered the rear side glow with a couple coats, could easily be seen by an animal looking in my direction with the glow it gave off on the opposing side. Took it squirreling the day after and it's sighted for about 45-50 yards with my Remington 870 sureshot express

VERY dim, and no white outline to improve daylight performance
The tritium glow was pretty dim, not sure if it was simply an old product that had deteriorated, or if it was simply an insufficient charge of tritium. No white outline to improve daylight performance, so these sights provided NO advantage until absolute dark. I ended up getting the Trijicon sights (brighter, white outline to improve daylight shooting, easier to install) and tossed the Mepros in a drawer.

Did not fit my 870 clone.
The clone is an Interstate Arms Hawk 981. Ran a 6-48 tap through the existing hole and it works great. Massive improvement over the OEM bead. I can see my target in the dark now, well almost.
