GuzziniLatina Large Transparent Salad Spinner, 11-Inches

I have had 3 other salad spinners. I had the kind with a crank handle, I had the kind that had a lever and I had the kind you push a button and they all did not do a good job of drying my lettuce. I took a chance on this one since it had so many good reviews and wanted something that worked as promised, was easy to operate and didn't hurt my hand when using it. This one fits the bill. It does a good job of drying my lettuce without doing it many times over. While this had a crank type spinning mechanism, this one feels natural to spin and since the handle can move position up and down and any angle in between it was comfortable too. Due to the scallop design it keeps the basket spinning true and balanced. This was always a problem with the others. The basket got wobbly making it hard to hold on to. This one spins smooth has a silicone banded bottom to help it stay put on the counter. It dries the lettuce very well and that is the main function, but I have also used it to dry fruit after washing, like blueberries and stawberries. It also looks good and is made sturdy. I have not dropped it yet so I hope the plastic bowl can handle it because it will happen eventually, but it looks sturdy and strong. I got the green one (lettuce) and it looks nice.

When my last plunger-type salad spinner stopped working for no apparent reason, I knew I had to look for a new one with a whole different design. I looked at the ratings and the reviews and found the Guzzini. It's design is quite simple, but hugely effective. This salad spinner doesn't have a plunger or a pull-cord like most others on the market...it has a handle that pops up and you simply crank the basket around. It takes very little effort to really get the basket spinning fast. The top of the outer bowl is flared a bit, also, so that when the water hits it, it drains to the bottom of the bowl rather than splashing back onto the produce in the basket. The result is lettuce and herbs that are bone-dry. This salad spinner works far better than any I have ever owned! My last salad spinner never really got lettuce totally dry, but the Guzzini achieves this, and with far less effort. In addition, the Guzzini holds more produce in the basket than my previous spinner because the inside of the lid is totally flat, so there is no plunger-mechanism taking up valuable space inside the bowl. I hand-wash mine, so I don't know how it would hold up in the dishwasher, but it is apparently dishwasher-safe. I am very happy with my choice to purchase this model over the others on the market!

Made in Italy. After reading several of the reviews for a number of different salad spinners, I opted for Guzzini Latina 11-Inch. The product was sold through Silver & Crystal Gallery which provided great service. They did inidicate that it would take a number of days before the product was shipped, but for the great price they offered and very reasonable shipping cost, it was well worth the wait. In the 90's my best friend bought a salad spinner and told me repeatedly, it was one of the best buys she ever made as it worked great. I had never owned one, but now live with someone who eats salads every day. We like a big salad with all kinds of vegies in it and this 11 inch spinner is perfect. I can make a very large salad that stays fresh for a number of days. Even my significant other noticed the difference in the freshness of the salad. The spinner itself is very sturdy. The way the lid fits to the scalloped edges of the basket, works really well. The bowl is lovely on the table. Thanks to the people who reviewed this product and to the person who let it me the country of origin was Italy. They influenced my purchase of this product and I would definitely recommend it to others.

After reading many reviews for spinners, I opted for a large one so everything in it would get dried, and for this one due to the durability of materials and style, too. I really wanted the large size, so whether I put a small or large batch of herbs or salad leaves, they all get dried instead of so crowded that only outer leaves do. With larger quantities, I sometimes shake it up to redistribute leaves before another spin, but not much more ever comes out.My only issue is the little stubby tab style handle that folds up from an indentation in the lid; great for storage, stylish, but not the easiest thing to hold on to due to its size and slickness. Still, it's no big impediment, this spinner works great and I'm vary happy with it.

This sleek spinner is a very attractive addition to my red and white kitchen. The size is perfect in a salad loving house hold and all the surfaces are smooth and well fitting. Your salad ingredients will emerge without excess water and intact. It is easy to clean andis everything such a device should be. It is actually the best spinner I have ever owned.

For a little more than the price of the large Oxo, you get a superior, great looking product that was made in Italy rather than China. The mechanism works really well and appears to be very reliable...this time of year we use the salad spinner a lot. The plastic is very thick and sturdy, and the basket is made of an interesting slightly flexible material. The bowl looks nice enough to use for serving, which we've done a number of times. Extra bonus, the mechanism comes apart for cleaning, which is really smart, because the Oxo could get slimey and hard to clean if lettuce got stuck up top.Only small complaint, the shape of the weave in the basket tends to get small bits of lettuce stuck, and is a little difficult to clean.

I've given a lot of 5 star reviews, because I know what I want and when the item is "as described" I am happy with it. This is my first rave review!!!! This product can barely be compared with the piece of junk that it has replaced. This is a quality item worth every penny of the price. It is a good example of "you get what you pay for". Yes it is plastic, but the plastic is as high a quality as plastic can be. The bowl is large - much larger than my old junk spinner and the gear is solid! You can't go wrong with this product. I could not have asked for more.

Ottima centrifuga. Oltre all'aspetto estetico, è capiente ed anche semplice e veloce da usare.Bello il design e i colori. Si lava velocemente, con l'utilizzo di una spazzoletta si riescono a rimuovere i residui di verdura rimasti tra i buchi.L'unica pecca è la plastica dura che la rende un oggetto delicato (bisogna stare attenti a non farla cadere altrimenti si crepa).In ogni caso è la seconda che acquistiamo (la prima si è rotta perchè la manovella è stata girata con troppo forza). La prima è stata acquistata in negozio, la seconda su amazon perchè più conveniente.

Die Salatschleuder ist seit dem Kauf täglich im Einsatz. Sie funktioniert perfekt und ist auch groß genug für größere Salatportionen für 4-6 Personen. Der Salat ist auch bei voller Beladung der Schleuder schon nach wenigen Umdrehungen trocken. Bin sehr zufrieden.
