Heart of a Highland Warrior (The Connor Clan: Highland Warriors Book 3)

I waited with keen interest for this book to come out. Book 5 in a series (3 books and 2 novellas), I love the world that Anita Clenney has created. It only took me one very late night and a slightly bloated lunch break (sorry boss) to finish.I like the characters, the romance, the action, the supernatural and I like the twists (some obvious, some not).Anna is a strong woman who faces a difficult life and a difficult revelation. She starts by trying to hide from everyone to deal with her problems but once the sexy highlander gives her a shoulder/chest to lean on, she takes it (unlike some strong women who reject all forms of support). I liked Anna, I wanted to see how it worked out for her, I wanted her to fall in love. I didn't like that she kept the Hybrid's identity a secret, I felt that didn't sit with her character (I suppose it does in a way because she gave her word, but she also kept it a secret from people she loves).Tavis is loyal. He follows Faelan through time to try to protect his older brother. He is strong, able to take the abuse done on him. Emotionally, I thought he was a bit one-dimensional, his sorrow over his family seemed quickly worked through, his love for Anna quick to build. But I still liked him a lot!Overall, I thought the story was resolved very quickly but an excellent read. If you like highlanders in modern times, this is for you.

Travis is a powerful Alpha warrior who finds the 21st century a strange place. He wants Anna but she mystifies him with her manners. I loved Anna. It's wonderful to have a kick-ass woman who can take care of herself. I found it enjoyable to see familiar characters and see learn how they fared. Anita Clenney delivers a story that has it all - romance, suspense and the paranormal. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I want to know about Cam.

Loved the time travel and all the characters plots. Looking forward too the next books and the adventure to uncover.😊☺

So good I couldn't put it down! I really enjoyed this book. It had so many twists and turns it was amazing!

I loved these books, but can’t find any more in this “series”! There needs to be one more to wrap up the loose ends, but I can’t find it. I bought the book “Awaken the Highland Warrior”, and bought “Embrace the...” and “Heart of the...” for my kindle. However, I can’t find any book written by Anita Clenney that brings closure.The 3 Books are wonderful in and of themselves, but there are so many other characters I loved, and would like closure! The series seems to end with a perfect opening for another book! A fortress appears on Conner land with another person thought to be dead, and...... what? What happened to the last demon? So many unanswered questions, and I couldn’t find a book or kindle book that completed it.

Great book and if you want to read it please read the two books before it as well. I am now looking for book 4!

So far my favorite in the series! I cannot wait for the next to see what happens and who it happens to.The book keeps you on your toes the entire time and there were a few surprises that I did not see coming.I loved the relationship between the two main characters and the depth that Anita went to with explaining how they were feeling, it really helped me get into the characters minds while I read.It was great catching up with the characters from the earlier books and to see how they have progressed so far.If you haven't read the other books in the series I suggest you do that first so you can keep up with all of the characters and their relationships.I couldn't have been happier with this book and how it kept me hanging. Even now I am just thinking of all the different ways Anita can take the next book!

Got through about 2/3 of the book before I gave up on it. The premise of the book sounds great but to be honest there was very little plot involving the lead characters in the first half of the book. A great deal of time is spent giving backgrounds and cameos to a huge cast of characters for no apparent reason. For the most part many of the "side" characters appearance have nothing to do with what is currently going on in the story. I just don't think it should take more than half of a book for the main characters to really start having a plotline. I gave the book a chance but to be honest I found the constant intros of new characters exhausting and just a little boring. Maybe the other books in the series were better.

I bought this as a 'free' monthly book with the kindle app linked to my phone as it was a genre that I like. The general storyline was good but as this seems to be part of a series I found the number of characters confusing at first as this was the first I had read. The last couple of chapters feel rushed and have an immature structure to them. I won't be buying the others in the series.

Fantastic . I couldn't put it down, a real page turn. I recommend this book to all Amazon readers. Good reading.

Rated 3 as it was a bit floppy getting through the different characters plot.Fights were a little quick and too easy.

Yet again Anita creates a gripping story that always leaves you wondering what is coming next, can't wait for the next instalment!!

All the books in the series are fantastic. Love the characters love each book. Hooked when's the next one due to come out.
