Trumpeter 1/16 German King Tiger Tank with Henschel and Porsche Turrets

After reading reviews online and shopping around I finally pulled the trigger on this model and am not disappointed. It was packaged very well and there is SO much detail included with this kit. The scale makes it impressive as is comes with a fully detailed interior. I build allot of scratch build 1/6 scale armor so to me this scale/size is nice as it takes up allot less room than my 1/6 scale King Tiger and will actually fit in my hobby room for display. Looking forward to starting this project!

I believe this to be the holy grail of tank modeling . trumpeter has made an amazing product ..the big scale allows for further detailing , plenty of info online to take the model to a museum piece .Worth every penny !

NOT A TOY--this is for a skilled modeler--it is a model kit with 2000 parts. So if you like building model tanks and you like a challenge--you will like this kit. It was well packaged and boxed.

I shall not dwell too much on the assembly of the model. Indeed, there is an issue with the hull ammo racks, requiring modifications to allow the turret to turn properly.The simple fact is this; this should be handled by a modeler of exceptional skills. I have 40 years of experience and this King Tiger is worthy of the name. 1850 parts and god knows how many hours are required to give something of this size and detail the build it deserves.I see it like this; if you build 20 parts a day, say two hours each, it will take 92 days and 184 hours of consecutive work to complete this kit. That’s if you are reasonably patient and respect what this kit will require.
