If you need to kill an old 6S Lipo pack, this will do it. Might not be necessary, but I point a fan at it when I had to use it. It gets quite warm.

The metal on the contacts really does not want to be soldered to so I ended up just having really long leads pulled through and twisted together and then soldered them to themselves. A little shrink tube and a xt90 connector and I have myself a super legit lipo battery killer. So far the biggest battery I've killed with it was a 3s 100c 5000mah lipo the tube got pretty warm not to hot 5o touch but you can definitely feel it doing its job. I have it mounted to the side of my workbench and recently installed a small fan to help diffuse some of the heat while it does it's thing. I definitely recommend it to all my friends though. Better to be safe and kill those sketchy batteries than have them laying around

Recommended by bardwell for discharging lipo’s. Works well without any issue. You’ll have to increase the heat of the soldering iron someone since the metal contacts seem slightly resistent to soldering. Flux will help.

Used as a load to drain LiPo batteries for disposal. Measured exactly 2.2 ohms on my multimeter. Item got hot enough that you wouldn’t want to hold it but that is an expected side effect of draining a battery. Completely brought a 2s 6500 mah LiPo down to virtually zero volts in about two hours, battery didn’t puff or fail otherwise during the process. It may have been faster but I wasn’t paying much attention to it. I just hooked it up to the battery and left it in an old metal container in the back yard. One of the tabs was slightly bent but easily bent back and didn’t have any effect on the intended use.

I bought this heavy duty resistor to provide a cool 2 Ohm load in my circuit. The final values of the circuit are approximately 5 Volts at 2.5 Amps (V = I * R) (5 = 2.5 * 2). I ran the circuit for quite a few hours and everything remained steady and cool as desired, so this resistor did a great job at approximately 12.5 Watts (P = I * V) (12.5 = 2.5 * 5).

Works Good, I use this to completely drain my lipo batteries that are no good for recycling them.
