How long is this belt supposed to last?. I have bought two so far and the last one only lasted for a few months.

This one has lasted well, about a year. But really, if your hernia has been so long, you should nag your doctor for treatment.

Can i use this to do sit ups as i have a hernia at the moment

'A hernia' does not give sufficient information. What kind of hernia? If you have an abdomnial hernia sit-ups, crunches, planks are a no go ... whay should you do excercises further damaging the injury of your abdomnial wall? Avoid all excercises increasing abdomnial pressure. Its like 'jumping on a broken leg is ok when wearing a cast'.
