These jars are amazing! Block out 99% of light. Dark. Thick. Sturdy. I wish Ball still made these. Perfect for long-term food storage. Made in the USA!!

Purchased these as I'm using them to store my assortment of teas for my Pantry. I create beautiful and colorful (non-consequential art) for my relaxing hobby and pleasure. (A Pic or two could accompany this review later.) The Jars come tightly packaged in a sturdy box. I only wish the 1/2 size of these were available. The Pint Size Jars are equally as stunning to have.

These jars are exactly what I was looking for. They are perfect for storing liquids and protecting against the light.

These are expensive, but they are exactly what's needed. The lighter-colored ones provide decoration, but they do not filter out the UV, which is the whole point of an amber jar. These are plenty dark, but you can still see into them if you need to judge the quantity. None of the cheap knockoffs I've tried do that.

Good, sturdy jars. I wouldn't get brown again.I prefer to see inside the jar. But, if you don’t mind not seeing in there then these are a great value.

Not in the packaging shown in the photos, but this may be a plus. Maybe seller realized they needed to repackage for successful shipping. They were shipped in a sturdy cardboard box (seller) and plastic wrapped first, inside another box (Amazon). But not the Ball-branded half-box + wrap green packaging as shown. But others have pr3viously reported damage, and I received 4 boxes - total 16 bottles - in perfect condition.Darker than I expected, but it serves well the intended purpose of shielding content from UV light. It may not be clear what is inside, but at least you can tell how much is remaining “Is that Mexican Mix or Asian Mix? Dunno - but it’s shapes - and it’s half full.”. I’m using these for storage in a sunny kitchen with limited storage space, and a handy 4” ledge around the counter that passes right under a window.Others have questioned if these are genuine. I’m not a collector or expert, I would not know what to look for. The markings look identical to clear genuine Ball jars I have. Yes, the is an obvious vertical “seam” marking I guess from the mold. But so do my clear jars.Ball doesn’t seem to sell these currently, so it would be good if the seller would explain if these are “new, old stock” or what? I realize Ball does periodic color runs for collectors. I have searched and searched, and these are otherwise unobtainium, so I will reluctantly pay the price.Certainly better I’m sure than the countless cheap knockoffs sold here by others and often misrepresented, reports of breakage, surface-applied color rather than throughout the glass, questionable use of trademarks, etc.Price is high - 7x clear jars! But searches just lead to these or knockoffs of dubious quality.4 stars only because could use more clarity/transparency from seller.

Worth the higher price for lifetime jars. The glass is dark amber. Very happy. I bought them to store organic coconut oil from a large container.

Amber glass keeps the UV out
